Brother Williams, you taught this lesson with the wisdom of GOD. May GOD continue to bless you and the Saints there at North Colony. My husband and I were both unbelievers, and I was diligently seeking to divorce him after 5 years of marriage because it was very very difficult for me to forgive him. But when I by the grace of GOD, obeyed the Gospel and started transforming into the wife GOD wanted me to be...I started learning to respect my husband after learning to love him as Christ love and forgave me, our marriage last for 26 years. We grew more in love and became friends again. It was not easy in the beginning, but I wanted to honor GOD in my marriage. He obeyed the Gospel 37 days before he went to sleep in JESUS. He obeyed the 25 of December, 2023. These are some of the scriptures I always kept in my spirit..Ephesus 5:33, Romans 12:9-21, I Peter 3:1-6. I didn't focus on my responsibilities to GOD because that would have caused resentment.

This is amazing message. So many great points and I definitely agree that it should be studied and addressed separately. I think the biggest issue that divorce has been taught to Christians that it was UNFORGIVABLE. Thank you for this lesson can't wait until Part 2.

You were on point. My husband had cheated so many times and I've stayed being hopeful he'll tired to Christ. I'm regretting that decision because he's mentally ava emotionally abusive. I believe he still cheating, but I'm not looking, is just the past patterns that always showed up wherever he cheats. I'm not LOOKING for an out, just peace. I want God to be glorified always.

Hello Brother Williams. I appreciate your honesty and your review of the scripture on this subject. I agree with everything you said. I will say this, when a person is on the other side of adultery, a person may say in words that he/she forgives the sin, but that is often a trauma-based response. A person may not realize he/she cannot "forgive" or bare it until time has passed and the trauma has subsided. I do not think we should put a time limit on when and if someone can truly forgive. To say you can't bring up the adultery two years down the road, and to do so is sinful, may not be accurate. It depends on the person and the situation.

ON GOD ✊🏾 PERIODTTTT ✊🏾. Currently taking care of My Mom bcuz my dad did a number on her. I knew as a child that they should've got a Divorce. I'm in Bible study, Bible School, VBS, etc, ALL the TINGS, and I'm like GOD THIS isn't you😮.......... Fast forward to my Divorce........"IF the Unbelieving depart, THEN depart", honestly Best thing THAT ever happened. I grew 6ft. ✊🏾 THANK God. It's been tough but a very Glorious lesson....✌🏾...... The statement where Bro. Williams said, "If I don't get out of this marriage, I'm going to lose my soul". My GOD, I had these exact thoughts. I did didn't do anything immediately, I waited for GOD and he directed the path. GOD even gave me the sense to file MYSELF. I completely forgave him and myself. I have no regrets.

It's painful yet it's necessary at times that's why GOD gave an exception. Another reason it's necessary is because of Peace and if there's no Peace due to a unsaved Spouse and they depart, then let them a child of GOD us not bound in such cases. So there are cases where the marriage itself is causing the brokenness due to know peace. Also verse 27 of 1 Corinthians 7 I don't think you should isolate that verse because Paul literally teaches why he wrote that in the next verse 28 , Because of the Present Destress of that time which was Persecution. Yet if you do marry you have Not sinned. Overall good lesson. Dennis Melton church of Christ minister

Excellent lesson I agree with all you say Sad thing is all Church of christ don’t agree and should for Ephesians said One faith One Spirit therefore the If we are of Christ then by His Doctrine the Spirit of the Church should agree instead of teaching Matt 19 the only reason for divorce is Adultery when I question this I was told this the only way 😢 but everything you just said is true because of the situation you need to remove your self Thank you Brother Williams I pray the Lord give you utterance to continue the teaching of the Apostles and Prophets by our Lord Jesus Christ All Glory to God for Enlightening us

Only ever heard adultery and not being allowed to practice your faith as reasons for divorce. And to only remarry in the faith. Now, what if you sinned and remarried but not in the same faith. Doesn't make since to divorce then. But rather to repent and ask for God's forgiveness. Your new situation isn't your spouse's fault.
