We don't go to worship to be entertained but to worship God

This is more simplistic than we think. If we are studied in the word on how we are to worship, learn, act and move forward we can see if there is a problem. When elders allow something that is not in scripture, we go to them and confront. If they will not recant on a biblical wrong, we take another witness and gently confront. If they state they are going to continue on with it, you are not to have a part with it. Back in the 1970's before the Lord's church was infected with soft preaching, the pews were busting apart. When preachers are allowed to eisegete (put their meaning into the passages of scripture instead of drawing the meaning out of the word) during sermons, it poisons the whole well. I cannot go into all the indicators here, but this happened recently; a new preacher was hired after someone who was very harsh and drove people away from the church. The vacuum behind him drew some of them back, but the new man uses sermons with 8-15 points with (at times) over 30 scripture references. This does NOT feed the flock. This confuses the visitor. This derails the new convert. When all three of these dynamics are in place, satan comes in and steals hearts. Elders, deacons and men's committee's who falter on this are almost begging the church to dwindle until the doors are closed. "Follow the pattern of sound words..." and "Be ready in season and out of season"....are so important. The books of Acts is where we start. It gives the problems, it gives the pattern, it gives the commandments and shows us a clear way to obey the commandments our Lord gave us. I see the churches of Christ flourishing in places and dying in others. The dying churches are bending to culture and leaving the word behind. Stand fast saint. "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6.

This has given me so much to study , and comprehend ;I know moving forward I’ll have a better understanding After hearing this message, I think what I’m gonna have to do is start over in reevaluating the churches that I’ve visited but this time looking at it with an eye of what is my purpose/ why am I here. And hopefully that will help to put me in the right place. Can you please answer do you need to be baptized by a church of christ preacher? Can you go to a denomination and get baptized but then turn to the church of christ without getting baptized again under the proper doctrine?

People that go to church on Sundays worship the Sun God Rah! The Sabbath is on a Friday!!!
