Great lesson, Bro Williams! Married for almost 28 years, the quality of our marriage didn’t start to blossom until recently. A lot of hard conversations; a lot of honest conversations and for me it finally started to get better when I went to God instead of my friends and family. My conversion & my marriage all came at the same time and there were a lot of layers to uncover. But most importantly I had to own my shortcomings and live with the consequences. I thank God for my husband and I thank Him for extending His grace to allow me to get on the right road to a better marriage. 💙

Once again you have addressed a topic that’s not covered enough. Yes, I had tears in my eyes. I have tried unsuccessfully to communicate with my husband. I am ignored every day. If I go to the doctor, he might ask am I okay? I have heard my husband encourage Other sisters in the congregation, while I get nothing. My husband had Stopped wearing his wedding ring. To this day, I don’t know why. He’s a Leader in the church. Once we enter the sanctuary, he becomes a completely different man. I am not in a good place. Again, thank you! I am learning to lower my expectations. Thank you!

You could not have described me in my marriage more accurately because you were on my street Brother. Married for 28 years, unhappy for 20. Staying in the marriage out of pity and hanging on to the good qualities he has. Most importantly, I stay because God said the qualities I don’t like aren’t grounds for divorce. I want the marriage to go back to how it was but at the same time, I would love to have a second chance and marry a God-fearing man. Pray for my marriage 😢❤

Question: if they're are couples who God 'didn't put together' and it was based off their OWN will/desires. Are they then authorized to get divorced? Outside of the issue of adultery?

Thank you for that question. The answer is no. Even if the relationship wasn't based on God... you are not free to remarry strictly based on that case.
