That sounds like a good idea... jk!
I had an absolutely hellish experience with DOMS when I got back into squatting after having tendonitis in my knee. I'd been doing knee squats at lowish weights that didn't put much load on the tendon in the meantime and thus mostly maintained my strength. After a week of testing the waters I jumped back into full weight just fine, but had to skip on leg workouts for an entire week, and could barely walk. Gradually worked back to full weight and now it's all fine again.
Delayed onset muscle soreness feels good. No I don’t mean because I know I worked hard and have a sense of accomplishment. I mean it feels pleasurably good, especially stretching sore muscles! So great
Watching this before i workout right now really helped me a lot

Bruhh, Im in bed tryna sleep but my muscles are aching. PF is the goat!
Soreness goes away eventually after every workout. Just keep lifting. The repeated bout effect works.
I never do calve raises but two days ago I did well over 500 because my swim coach instructed me to. I now have to walk on my heels with straight legs, and I have swim practice in approximately 3 hours. there is about a 90 percent chance of death. So, if these are my last words tell my family I love them.
My 2 cents: I am a senior citizen, and I am obese. I started a walking routine for exercise. I was so sore that first night, I thought I was dying. My daughter told me to put my backside as close to the wall as possible, my legs straight up on the wall, lay back and breathe. I laid like that for 20 minutes. The next morning, most of the pain was gone. I was able to continue my daily routine of walking.

Ah, perfect timing.
Whenever I want to start up on exercise again I always want to take it easy and not push myself so that I don't get doms but it's so hard drawing that line when you have been out of the game for a while or are new and I always over do it and have to take 4 or more days off. But hey it does work eventually you just have to be patient
Yeah but why does it happen 24-48 hrs after ?? Why not immediately or couple hrs later ?
Thanks for the references
It would be a great help if you cover on the ways to foam roll correctly & specifically targeting deep muscles in the next video. Just a suggestion ;)
I was just laying in my bed yesterday and i was was thinking about looking this up, you’re a wizard?
I LOVE THE FEELING OF SORE MUSCLES!
If you want to lift each muscle group every 2ish days (for ideal hypertrophy), how would doing isometrics 2 days before training be practical? It would be during your previous session or the day after it your previous session ... Also, what do you think of all the research showing no extra benefit to muscle strength/size when consuming more than 1.6 g/kg of protein per day?
Damn thanks man just started working and I'm sore asf🙏🙏
Haha! Good stuff! Sourness can be a pain for gains!
I actually love the soreness, its a mark of my hardwork and grind in the gym
And again another helpfull video thank you picture fit 🧿❤️

Hi Picfit! I was just wondering about the fact you said that ingesting a protein shake 30 mins before a workout can help DOMS but the only research I can find about protein timing shows that timing only matters POST exercise not PRE? Any chance I can see the research you found on it? Thanks! PS love the channel keep it up
I've been doing calisthenics home routines for some time, but without access to pull exercises I was only doing push exercises temporarily. When I got a bar for inverted rows and pull-ups I started exercising in the same intensity I was doing with push exercises. Big mistake, it's like if someone beat my back/lats/biceps with a baseball bat, damn. It feels good tho lol

Another helpful way is to consume turmeric. Turmeric has anti inflammatory properties and can really help to reduces muscle soreness. You can put it on your post workout meal or your post workout smoothie or protein shake along with black pepper. Black pepper helps our body absorb up to 2000% more turmeric than it would usually do. Also, I know that putting turmeric and black pepper in a smoothie may sound weird, but if you don't put too much of it, you won't even taste it.

Best thing you can do for DOMS imo is to stay consistent with your training. after a few weeks of consistent training, you'll hardly feel sore (at least not to the point you cant brush your teeth or walk up stairs).

Unlimited protein (chicken wings/samgyupsal/scallops) after an intense leg day pretty much is my go to for reducing soreness SIGNIFICANTLY! I don't mind the extra calories since I'm also bulking up.
The best cure for DOMS for me is to do another workout. Hurts like hell to begin, but the DOMS does get better.

Thank you, quite helpful. Normally I train three to four times a week and done so for half a year. With exams I have only time for training one or perhaps two times a week - and my soreness came back big time - and it hasn't been a problem except for my first few weeks of training in the beginning. Is once a week to little?
