I been doing widow makers (1 set of 20 reps) squats for 3 weeks. I can already see changes in the size of my quads and overall legs.

20 rep squats are brutal. Keep it up. I'm "volumizing" right now and getting my work capacity up after a long long break from lifting.

don't overthink it - most people simply don't work enough to make consistent gains - supplements are not needed - you need to develop a healthy addiction to the gym and that's it - take days off when needed, get sleep and eat enough - done, wash, rinse, repeat then get fancy and add speedwork and variation later
