Paphos Cyprus EXPOSED! Take a walk with me around Pafos and I'll show you the places that the holiday companies and tour operators don't show you! I've spent a week in this HELLHOLE of a resort. Boarded up shops, restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs. It's like a ghost town, a town that has been abandoned. Hardly a soul in sight! Building work everywhere half finished and just left to Wreck and Ruin! YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING as bad as this!! I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy!

what astonishes me is that you never bothered to show any of the top notch archaelogical sites of the town...the mosaics, 'hte tombs of the kings' etc...and also, one does not travel to Cyprus in the 'winter' season and stay in Paphos...the magic of Cyprus is driving into the country...
I've lived in Paphos 16 years and yes some places are run down and a few roadworks are still going on but a lot of our beautiful region is stunning and not at all like you make out! I hope people don't take notice of this and come and enjoy our beautiful home!
Lee. The difference between a cat and a dog is that the dog looks up at you and thinks, " they love me,feed me,give me some ware warm to sleep, they must be god. A cat looks up at you and thinks, " they love ,feed me,give me some ware warm to sleep, i must be god." Great videos, keep up the good work.

If you had continued walking past where you ended the video you would have come across a site with the most amazing Roman mosaics and a bit further on the ancient ruins in the Valey of the Kings road. I guess you are a torurist - me I like to explore what's around.
So that’s why we can’t get the potholes repaired in Mansfield , the diggers are all on holiday in Cyprus !
After this one, you're going to be as welcome in Paphos as you are in Whitby!! I'm already looking forward to your return visit with wig and false beard 😂
45 Euro for that meal. Wow. That's $75 Australian Dollars. Seems pretty expensive to me. Best come back to Australia. :)
I'm 65 and have never had a holiday in the EU anywhere. Ive had 3 days at EuroDisney which I hated and have never ever wanted to go to places that are hot, crowded, commercialised, or foreign. Those timeshare people asked me where I would like to go but they didn't have anywhere for me in Alaska or Greenland or Iceland so no thanks.

Come on Mac To compare Paphos with Blackpool at any time of year is B0llocks, like any holiday resort out of season you are going to get ripped for food and drink. Building work will be going on and the resort will be quiet. I have been travelling to Cyprus since the seventies, the first thing you do, is get out of the tourist resorts and find some real Cypriot food and drink. Locals will be eating in the best places.........just like Blackpool. Drive up to Troodos, stopping along the way. Or along the west coast. Even down to Akrotiri close to the RAF base. The real Cyprus is there, you just have to find it....................stop it you whinging pom

What a mess. One thing Lee, where are all the builder's??. Out of season and didn't see one person working on anything, very strange.
Nice tortoiseshell cat :). Fun fact, the oldest evidence of human & domestic cat keeping was discovered in Cyprus a few years back dated ca. 9500 years ago. Archeological burial site showing human & cat skeletons next to each other. Previously, we thought that cats and human relationships started in ancient Egypt around 3000 BC. 🐈
It's like your electric car, you didn't do your homework about this place either.

I appreciate you have your opinions but, living here in Cyprus having left the UK over 3 years ago, I am staggered of how you have elected to show deliberately disappointing areas of the island. If you had bothered to go away from the tourist area you would have seen why so many of us choose to live here rather than the UK.

And you could not wait to get back to the uk? Freezing, miserable, high crime and massive cost of living. Unfortunately Paphos harbour area is being renovated. But this will not last forever. And holiday makers can easily get on a local bus and see the lovely mountain villages and the beautiful sea caves areas. Paphos is so beautiful. Pity you deliberately showed the renovation areas.
A ghost town this place Lee. Maybe it was a place for Russians that no longer go on vacation or something. I cannot get over how everything looks out of season either closed or having work done. Expensive steak meal there and I would hardly call it a mains. Fancy not taking your order for a dessert. Poor customer service that. I bet there was a service charge too. Hurry up back to the UK Lee.

I absolutely love Cyprus, we had some wonderful holidays, lovely restaurants, friendly people everywhere.
This vid shows much more of your mug than the place, so really not interesting, sorry.
Blimey Lee I rang one of those bells when my niece got wed out there years ago, what a transformation from Australia..That area was on its way out when I was there..A young Irish girl got out of an old battered sports car and tried to rope us into a time share..Horrible, glad you’ve highlighted this so people can see how downhill it is..
Hi lee we we stayed in paphos 25 years and they were building site's every where then , Watching your vlog has brought back bad memories, like you we would not go back again .Keep up the great work
I've been to Cyprus several times. Although (many of the) Cypriots will tell you otherwise, the North of the Island is the best part. Stay in Limassol, hire a car and travel up to Famagusta, then find a local guide who can take you on a tour of the abandoned city. Finish it off with food and drinks at Kyrenia harbour.
Thought you was going to explore the island. There are some beautiful places to visit. We go to Cyprus every year and never had any problems with building and roadworks. We stay in Latchi or Polis.
Bad to judge anywhere when it’s out of season.

The problem is Lee you have now experienced Australia lol! Too many of these Holiday destinations have been totally ruined, they are not wealthy places and now depend on tourism to stay afloat because they have tasted the tourist dollar and want more and more at the visitors experience and expense. Take a look at Bali or Phuket over our side, totally ruined within the past 10-15 years.
We went in Oct 2019 and really liked it went back last Christmas and so many places had closed down and lots of building work. COVID seemed to have decimated a lot of the businesses that were there before. Such a shame.
Stop going to Cyprus years ago people were lovely But the Russians were takeing over. Been going to Lanzarote love the island so laid back and lovely and clean.

Here here my friend
I'm half Cypriot and I agree that Paphos isn't the nicest place. I've never understood why so many people go there for holidays BUT.... Protaras and Ayia Napa are amazing places and totally different to this area. Caribbean style beaches, beautiful cape greko, the restaurants and hotels are far superior this Paphos. I would say though that Cyprus comes alive from the mid April. Until then it can be largely lifeless. I will give you a personal tour if you ever go back, but to the South east of the island. It's absolutely chalk and cheese and you wouldn't believe the difference!!

Don't think we will be booking a holiday to Paphos any time soon.
Thanks Lee… You’ve just saved me from Wasting my money on trying Cyprus. Looks like Pontins in North Wales 😂
Lee can I ask a leading question! “Where did you steal that digger from?”😂😂😂😂
This reminds me of your ill-fated trip to north Tenerife tired and run down, I suppose at the current rate if you were to return in 5 years they may have finally finished everything.
That steak meal looked a right rip off.Hope you didnt tip them.
I've live on Cyprus for 15 years, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for a holiday destination especially if you have kids, the facilities here are just crap, and seriously expensive especially water parks. Car rental is a ripoff too. If you are the type who likes to explore then the island has plenty to offer for the adventurous. But if you are going to hang around the resorts prepare to be disappointed. You have come in the off season so it is more of a building site.
I first visited Paphos in the early Eighties. My father was posted I. Dhekelia with the army. I was studying at university and visited my parents for long summer holidays. I often visited Paphos. And in the days it was really undeveloped and pretty - there used to be a famous resident pelican in the harbour. I have been back in Cyprus a few times since. I feel it has been overdeveloped. Sad. Food in Cyprus is fantastic - mezedes are great.
We went to Paphos last year in early October for the first time and stayed near the Tomb of Kings and to be fair the area wasnt too bad , the food was very good , the nightlife was decent and it was very reasonably priced so we left fairly satisfied with the place I am only going off our experience and as we like to visit different places I dont think I would return but no way was it the worst place we have been to
You would have been better going to your local cemetery with a bag of chips and a bottle of pop …lol
I've been to many Greek Islands but have never to Cyprus as yet. I love the Greek ambience and people and I adore the food. Oven baked fish in garlic and home fried chips in olive oil, Greek salad, Pork Souvlaki etc. I've been lucky to explore and find out of the way Taverna's where there isn't a menu but they take you into the kitchen and show you what's cooking.
The (Re) construction has been going on for a couple of years & the new mayor has done a lot for the tourist industry, h&s doesn't exit out there. The pace is slower & chilled, lovely people & very welcoming. To be fair it is off season & obviously work needs to be done so it's getting done, lots of nice restaurants & plenty of bars and it's very safe. Summer is a different kettle of fish, the place is heaving & the weather is glorious 35 degrees plus, look for where the locals eat & drink (not on the sea front) & you won't go far wrong.
That is definitely looking a bit rough around the edges lee, don’t blame ya for pulling the plug early 😊,how about trying a cheap 5 to 7 day euro cruise stopping of at different countries can’t be any worse than Paphos lol 😂 my friends go on the cheap cruises and love it ,
You should of gone to protaras much better over there. I have been to both paphos and protaras and I didn't like paphos but loved protaras and can't wait to go back there someday
Diggin’ a hole for yourself Lee? “Haddock or fish?” Are these the mutterings of a nervous man 😂

Many businesses are seasonal so close November- March. Then have to factor in Easter period and Lent, which in 2024 started on 18th March Not surprised you found it all a bit deserted
It does look a bit rough. Maybe you should have compared it with another town. The whole island can’t be like that, can it?
They keep asking you to drink responsibly, but no bar I've ever been in seems to sell it lol.

Hi Lee thank you for showing us round some of the sites Just love your vlogs ❤️
I think you need a holiday to recover from this holiday! Türkiye is top notch and has amazing food
A bit dramatic to call paphos a hell hole never had a bad holiday in paphos last couple years lots of digging going on but this can only be a good thing
I went to Paphos in August 2019. The best things about it were the cats, sunsets and crystal clear sea water. I know people who love it, but it's definitely not somewhere i would rush back to.
Lee you are the new Alan Whicker..
Another fun fact, Cyprus aka “island of cats” has 1.5 Million cats, outnumbering humans on the island.
If you want to see some real degradation have a walk down Harehills Lane in Leeds from the A64 to the A58 Roundhay Road and have a look around some of those streets, don't take your camera or wear your watch though.
The plastic vs paper on the cups is what you call left wing logic. This applies to pretty much all of their views/inventions…
You said you didn’t understand fishing. I live in the beach in a southern state of America. There are fisherman and guys who fish. You’re watching guys that fish. Their objective is to look at the ocean and relax, and if they catch a fish.. A great bonus! They’re away from their wife and have peace and quiet. I skipped the fishing part and just look at the ocean. Much more efficient. Rewatch the video and look at your face when you saw the sunset. The guys that fish experience that every minute
Like with every country that lockdown, it destroyed their economies and especially Greece's because it lives off tourism. This is why most countries are buggered now with hyper inflation. I still love Greece which is always very quiet in off season but it's bathed in history and the sunsets are stunning unlike the crap weather in the UK. Plus Greece can be far less tacky that Spain.

I think the word arguably is key. “Spring forward, Fall back” relates to how you change your clock for British summer time. If you have a meeting at 2pm and push it back an hour what time is your meeting now? 3pm because you’ve pushed it BACK away from you. If you say I’ll spring the meeting forward (why would you ever say that) it’s now 1pm because you’ve brought it forward nearer to you.
