I immediately stopped the video and went to the comments because of that. How was she able to never eat or see one of these in her life here in Germany? I mean, did she never stand in front of the sweets shelves in a EDEKA supermarket and looked at everything to decide what to buy? Even if you and everyone you know never had them at home, you‘ll at least see them there, because they’re normally located somewhere in the middle of the shelf because of their popularity :D

American chocolate has a lot more "chemicals" in it, for example they add the same stuff that vomit or rancid butter contains called butyric acid (I dont know the reason, it just has a distinct taste) so Germans or generally many Europeans won't enjoy the taste that much

Great video! : ) The Ahoj Brause company also sells other sour sweets besides the Brause Brocken, so there also is one kind with powder ( basically its not compressed Brause Broken) which you can eat just like the Brause Brocken or you can also pour it in a glass and mix it up with water so it solves. I think the powder ones are the same flavour as the Brause Broken you ate but I'm not sure for that

Hey from Germany Caroline.Trolli’s are also available to buy here in Germany. The white one at Knopper's is a milk cream.Well, every single product can be bought in Germany, but most of them are only available online. Most of the items are even available at a fairly fair price. The Lans chips are even available in German discount stores. If anyone is interested, it is available in the Rossman or Amazon online shop. But there are also sweets that are or were banned here, as I'm reading now. The law was called the "Skittles ban" because an earlier bill dealt with titanium dioxide, a chemical found in sweets. But last month, lawmakers removed that particular chemical from the law.I would recommend German food, but this packaged food is rather poor in terms of taste. I hope it was tasty, thank you for the video.

No Reeses peanut butter cups? Huge oversight. From the German side Ritter Sport is way better than Milka but it's pretty easy to get in the US these days, at least where I'm from. When I moved to Germany twenty years ago I used to bring it home to family when I visited but now they can buy them at their local supermarket. Also might be good to explain that there are many many different varieties of Milka bars with different fillings, if you like that cookie one definitely try a RitterSport "Knupserkeks"...what part of Germany are you staying in?

Is it part of any American candy? I love US sweets and snacks - we have a shop specializing in it in my hometown. It's heaven. Yeah, artificial grape flavor was developed in the early twentieth century and is a traditional flavor in its own right, independent of the grapes that it, admittedly, doesn't really taste much like. (I think it was meant to taste like concord grape juice, but the flavor science of that era was rather primitive, so the resemblance is pretty superficial.) Newer artificial flavors (pineapple, mango, etc.) tend to taste a lot more like the fruit or whatever that they're intended to taste like, but the really old ones are their own thing. The worst, in my opinion, is artificial orange. There's also an artificial cherry that's not very much like actual cherries. Lemon is a special case: lemon-flavored stuff almost always used real natural lemon (even lemon Kool-Aid uses natural lemon flavoring, since forever) until quite recently, so you can expect lemon flavored things to actually taste like lemon, even when the orange and grape and cherry flavors of the same brand don't. You *can* get grape and cherry and orange things (candy, popsicles, punch, whatever) that actually taste like grapes and cherries and oranges, but the traditional artificial versions of those flavors are at least as popular, because people have come to expect them to taste like that.
