SAMGRELO - ZEMO SVANETI, GEORGIA - Welcome to Western Georgia, a region that’s known for delicious cheese and some of the spiciest and most complex food in all of Georgia. Today we’re taking a road trip, will be eating some food along the way, but finally making our way to Zugdid for some of the greatest Georgian food in the county.
Restorani Zgapari Rikoti (goo.gl/maps/UzzK2AhiWWwS27pp8) - Ubisa, Georgia - Just a few hours from Tbilisi, we started our food tour today at Restorani Zgapari Rikoti, in the mountains next to a river. They serve regional Georgian food and they are known for their wild mushrooms and fried chicken. It was another amazing meal, with unique dishes, and lots of walnuts and cheese.
Bikentia's Kebabery (goo.gl/maps/dDSfTdZp7tmd3J1R8) - Kutaisi, Georgia - Kutaisi is a large city in Georgia and we didn’t have long to stay, but I wanted to stop for a very quick kebab at a legendary restaurant. Turned out delicious!
Folk House (goo.gl/maps/oMS58D5XCXNKy3Rj6) - We finally made it to Zugdidi, Georgia, and the destination of the day. We went directly to the Folk House where we met with one of the most interesting guys in the country who is an artist, collector, singer, musician and Chef. He cooks some of the best local Samgrelo food. There were so many dishes I had never heard of or seen before. I loved the cold walnut stews and the highlight was the elarji, one of the most unique of all Georgian foods. It’s cornmeal with a huge amount of cheese mixed in. It’s probably the world’s greatest cheese pull!
"Sisatura" - Ethno village (goo.gl/maps/JFU13thXq8BUkB1t6) - Finally to wrap up this amazing day of Georgian food, we went to an Ethno village where we learned a little about the local Samgrelo culture and ate another fantastic meal!

Everybody loves Georgian cuisine at first taste but as a Georgian I have never seen a foreigner eating Georgian dishes as joyfully as this guy 😂

Georgian cuisine is among my favorites and the hospitality of the people there is hard to beat.
Georgian spices are something! They completely change the way your tastebuds feel. Unique cuisine! I am glad to live in neighborhood Armenia since I can enjoy Georgia's great dishes often, they are well integrated here. Odjachuri one love😅

I've been watching Mark for what must be close to ten years. Glad he FINALLY made it to Georgia! I lived in Russia for many years and have been to Georgia numerous times. Such an underrated country. It's so small, but so much to see, do, and most importantly, EAT!

Great food, beautiful country, nice people. Abundant cheese.
After brain tumour operations, jaws reconstruction, hammorage operations. Cannot eat, pain, aging, numbness. Georgian meal, yogurt i knew(best on earth). Mark caused me to eat slowly again. A day at a time. Thank you.

When I watch Mark's videos regardless to which part of the world he's located I am always touched by how food and the cultures of other people can come together in such harmony . I think Georgia is going to be one of my favorite series, up there with Pakistan and Bhutan. I think I will check out every place you visited in your last video and a couple places in this one when I visit! Love the scenery as well, absolutely gorgeous. My moms best friend used to have a Georgian boyfriend when they were in college. She always went to Georgia for holidays and absolutely loved the country and the food. She was Mexican so was never exposed to this kind of food, but she fell in love with it. My goal is to visit Georgia in the next couple of years.

Mark! I visited Georgia for the first time last year and also had a blast. Although I didn't stay long in Zugdidi like you did, I had just passed through to get to Mestia. Great video of showcasing Georgian cuisine.
