That was beautiful!! The most patriotic poem I've ever heard. The Battle of Trenton was a short, but decisive battle that swung in Washington's favor, boosted morale, and kept the Revolution alive.

I got a deluxe edition set of the complete 5 volume biography of George Washington by Washington Irving, for Christmas. Probably the best book about George Washington ever made. It’s a shame it’s not more widely known about.

Irving's biography is certainly one of the best biographies of the 19th century. We retain a set in our in the Washington Library at Mount Vernon.
