I haven't heard this song until maybe a couple of years ago but if you're familiar with Sammy Kershaw,and I'm sure if you're a country listener than you are,there was his song Yard Sale which bears practically the same story content. And Sammy was clearly influenced by George himself. I know Sammy didn't write Yard Sale but I wonder if the people who wrote it for him were inspired by this song here.

It's a great song, but I haven't heard it in a while, so thanks for reminding me of it. Another song with similar themes is Real Estate Hands by Daryle Singletary - that one is really good too.

@@jim5746 I think it's very hard to pick a definitive best because there were (and still are) so many amazing country singers. Johnny Paycheck is my personal favorite, but George Jones is a very close second.

Richard Bailey Good luck with that. It was one of those hard to find songs and my copy was a little rough, but I still wanted to share it. There is one other version of it on KZread, but he copied mine.

This must have been converted to an mp3 file from the B side of the he stopped loving her today. I had the record and I must say I played that B side almost as much. So I can understand why the quality is not the best but the quality here still better than mine was.
