Музыка

Blues master B.B. King performs "The Thrill Is Gone" in Chicago at the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival. Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 collection captures nearly four hours of highlights recorded live last year at the acclaimed charity music festival founded by the legendary guitarist. Eric Clapton, one of the world’s pre-eminent blues/rock guitarists, once again summoned an all-star team of six-string heroes for his fifth Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2019. Held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, the two-day concert event raised funds for the Crossroads Centre in Antigua, the chemical dependency treatment and education facility that Clapton founded in 1998.

Lyrics:
The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone, baby
The thrill is gone away
You done me wrong, baby
You'll be sorry someday
The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away from me
The thrill is gone, baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be
I'm free, free now, baby
I'm free from your spell
I'm free, free, free now
I'm free from your spell
And now that it's all over
All I can do is wish you well

When I was a boy, my dad took me to a BB King concert in our hometown (the 1993 "Jazz en Nord" blues festival in Tourcoing, North of France). I was probably one of the only kids in there. At one point, he started shaking the hands of the people close to the stage. Unfortunately, I was a meter away, on my dad's shoulders. I reached and reeeeached out my hand to the King... But it seemed like he didn't notice me... Until he stopped walking, set his eyes on me and said "YOU !"... and shook my hand :) The smile on my face must have been larger than the concert hall we were in!

I saw this live. About half the crowd left, this was after the Clapton solo set, close to midnight. Bill Murray was imploring people to not leave, best is yet to come, but they did. This was beyond incredible. What possessed Robert Randolph to do what he did.................maybe he was supposed to, but the whole thing was surreal. BB King told Clapton, Cray and Vaughn that if he had to sit they had to as well. And then they did what they did. Since so many people had left it was easy to maneuver close to the stage, the look on King's face during the song was amazing, it was like he was young again.

This man carried my through hard times. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably no longer be here. It's also the only person I ever cried for when I heard he died (I don't even cry when family dies). Thanks BB for your existence, your music and your legacy

The blues star playing the pedal steel from 8:55 to 9:05 is a legend! Best ever! Was cut short be the entrance of the all stars...but he was beyond killing it!
