Agree 100%. Bad luck these days aren't life's bad luck. Mostly self-described as bad luck. I really feel for the newer generations. It's not their fault for being so impressionable as to bad luck as we know it. Can only hope realisation is received soon 🙏 These songs are derived from some heavy duty times that is unfathomable to the newer generations. Blues forever!! I hope that the newer generations find the blues 🙏

I was very lucky to be able as a young musician to see Mr King live in Austin. My dad took me to one of the last concerts while I was in high school. I just wish that I could have been able to experience SRV with him together! They have both been a great influence in my music.

Dude that was my exact thought what you shed the rhythm section always gets overlooked and I'm saying that from the point of view of a guitarist I'm not a bass player or a drummer I love to play the bass I love to play the drums but any good musician knows that there's a big difference between playing and being one LOL I've been practicing bass and drums now for about a year and a half and I have a huge respect for good players I don't think I have enough time left on Earth to be able to get them down like I do the guitar. I have the guitar 40 years under my belt bass and drums one all these dudes are awesome and at least 50% argan and yeah to reply to another person's comment at the same time they better preserve this because since about 95 percent of the current generation and upcoming don't even know what the hell a guitar yes yes. We have allowed the world to be populated by talentless hacks who are not musicians at all. Just because you can push a button and play a drum beat and just because you actually can speak and have maybe some control over whatever language it is that half these guys are speaking these days in rap and garbage like thatdoesn't make you a rapper. Unbelievable. And I'm not anti-rap it's not my favorite by any means I'm a little old for that but I can recognize who is clearly talented musically with rap and who's not and usually the case is the ones who grew up listening to music actual music are the ones who put out this mumbling crap filled with nothing but obscenity racism hatred murder sexual perversion and every other hedonistic ugly thing this world has in it glorifying all of this is hardly the same thing as what we're seeing here. AI save us all at least in the musical community hopefully it'll recognize s*** and destroy it

I grew up listening to music from a time when that was all we had to get by on. Whether is was hyms of gospel, versuses from soul, the love in the the bottom of country, or tears generated by the lyrics of the blues, you made it work. What Mr. King and Mr. Vaughan showed us was the purest form of life created by true masters of their craft. Their mutual respect and appreciation for each other is PUREST form of love among men. They will continue to live on through the magic of audio and video for m others to enjoy. ✌🏿 and 1 LOVE

If I live to 150 I'll never get tired of watching this. Neither of those giants ever played a single note they didn't truly mean.

Albert King was thinking: "Man I taught this boy good! "

It got style, it got melody, it got feelings, it got flavour, it got techniques, it got skill, it got talent. This music has everything..

They used to show this on PBS at my grandma's house and she was deaf. One day she came in my room after she had the choclear implants and she was like oh I hear music now. I mean I was beefin it pretty bad. Like sit down and look at this with me grandma. It was a pretty cool thing. Like ok so that is music thing is cool. Rip grandma.

SRV showed respect in the form of restraint. SRV was ready to unload the blues, but realized it wasn't appropriate to do everything he could. The man could've got fire and weird with it but chose to play conservatively and stick to the staple blues

No this was srv paying homage, not about blistering the neck. If you recognize the parts where Albert was being more vocal in his notes, and Stevie was still playing the same signature licks he plays, don't think for a second he could do what Albert does, that's the beauty of Stevie. He knew Albert still had some strange vocal abilities like horn players to his riffs, and srv let him accentuate them. I love srv, but I've been playing for over 30years blues guitar and can see exactly what was going on, yes Stevie was holding back, but, he also knew that if given the time, and warming up, and comfortable place to jam, then Albert turns into a completely different player, using other than his own signature licks. This was about giving back, and also pushing Albert to his most uncomfortable places, yet supporting him. So let's stop the whole head cutting thing, this wasn't that

King was left-handed, but usually played right-handed guitars flipped over upside-down with the high E on top. He never played the 6th low E. Only later in his career did he play guitar s designed for lefties, the first made by Dan Erlewine in the late’70s.

I like all relaxed Albert is, Sometimes blues is the best music for a good mood, you can't deny. Kids today just don't care for it except a few. It wasn't ever a question for me. I heard it and I loved it.

I'm so thankful that I grew up in a household that loved the blues.

No ego, just mentor and protege rehashing old times. I hope Albert and Stevie are putting on one hell of a show in the hereafter.

My all time favorite “git fiddle players. And favorite recording right here with both masters. Stevie the Pupil with his favorite Teacher, Sir Albert. Thanks to AM-WDIA Memphis for introducing me to Albert’s music as a small child listening on my grandparents’s AM radio late late at night when I should have been asleep. Worn this CD out at least 3 times. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of the things I love about this is how Mr. King looks so lovingly at Mr. Vaughan.

I remember I had just returned to my ship during Operation Sharp Edge...the Embassy evacuation in Liberia, Africa. One of the guys who knew I was a guitar player broke the news to me...talk about a kick in the gut!

Albert channels shit from another dimension and completey outplays Stevie and says "sit down and watch your master bring his own song home". Watch Stevie's face during Alberts last solo before he brings it home. SRV inspired his master to play better than he ever has before! Haha This is THE ONLY TIME anyone's ever outplayed and matched SRV note for note, then completely destroys him and leaves SRV note-less. I challenge anyone to find anyone outplaying Stevie like this. Please share the link if you think I'm wrong. I'm not! The last solo by Albert is absolute destruction channeled from another dimension!! SRV thought he ended the song with his UNGODLY solos right before. hahahaha His face when he sees Albert bring it home is priceless. He knows he was outmatched by his master and he's loving every second of it!! Praise GOD FOR THESE 2 GENIUSES of Music. PRAISE GOD FOR #THEBLUES!

I see a few new listeners have stopped in to listen to such a talented individual. Both are equally talented yes. But we are missing Stevie the most. My daughter was rearranging the living room and put on one of my vinyls of Stevie Ray. In it was a lol pinup. Yeah my bedroom walls were barren until my daughter discovered pinups. I lol got a cool looking pinup from Pink Floyd too. So many years of difference between my age and my daughter yet she loves classic rock and blues like lol Buddy Guy, muddy waters bb king She jokes with me that she will keep my KZread account active until she gets old so she has something to remember about me

I haven't read all the comments, but let me be the first or perhaps one of the few to point out what it terrific singer Albert King was. A wonderful voice, velvety,strong, flexible, direct and subtle. Combined with his legendary guitar sound he was overwhelming. Stevie really knew how to pick his heroes.

We People From The South Simply Refer To It As "Soulful". Albert King And Marvin Junior Of "The Dells" Are Two Of The Most Noteworthy Voices With Such Tonality... Unless You Attended A Black Church In The South During The 40'-60's.

One of the originals, Albert King was every blues player's inspiration.

Blown away by this. A magical moment caught in time.

My dad used to play guitar and today was his 30 year anniversary of his passing😢 I was having a rough day ALL day…then I came across this!❤ and I started crying again , except this time with a smile😊 all my dads jam sessions came back to me! I just discovered this. Jesus. Knew AK was a huge influence on SRV but I didn't realize how much SRV's style follows AK's from soft and mellow to bending strings on face-melting solos. This is an incredible piece of music history. Love the blues.

Steve is the only artist that can impress Albert. He sees Steve dedication to his style and is overwhelmed. This music is magic.

I am so thankful I came across this jam session and it was on the net for me to get to hear it! This is one of those moments in time captured that can never be duplicated and I’m thankful I got to see it. I believe that any true Stevie Ray Vaughan fan should see this. It’s such a great tribute to him and his mentor the great Albert king.

What's wonderful is that they are enjoying themselves. I saw SRV in London and he was kicking it! Such a feel - good gig. I actually still have my tickets for the week after his demise. Didn't know quite what to do with them so did nothing. Meanwhile I've seen other bands who were just there to earn their bread and butter. Fair enough. Seasick Steve also has a fabulous stage presence for anyone interested. Everyone has a great time - on stage or off!

@@billatnip6425 I'm sure Mr James will put me straight on them. He got me into The Marshall Tucker Band and George Thoroughgood. I've seen Seasick twice at the old Hammy Odeon and SRV once at the same venue. Still have my tickets for when he didn't make it.

I was a security guard driving a van and I did the same when I heard the news... I had just seen him with Jeff Beck just weeks earlier in S. Fla.... and I actually threw a frisbee to SRV at a Tulane University stopover in 82 or 83 (along with about 50 other partiers) when he quit David Bowie's tour and was on his way back to Texas.

Man the guy on the bass just keeping the tempo and plugging the grove behind it all was amazing...this was brilliant indeed.

Saw SRV at the Beacon in NY in the 80s. As a blues-based guitarist myself, I was completely blown away by his performance. While there was a lions share of showmanship, with Stevie playing with his teeth and behind his back Hendrix-style, take all that away and there was a true musical force of nature and to witness it was a blessing I will never forget. He was like a broken steam pipe with super heated blues blowing out with no evidence of ever stopping or slowing. He never fatigued musically; he could play a solo forever, keeping it riveting and without ever losing his mojo. So grateful to him for baring his soul and sharing himself with all of us during his lifetime.

That trade off in "Flood" was incredible. SRV starts off like a torrential downpour, and then King comes dripping in like the eye of the storm, things are calm and eerie and you almost think the storm is over, until he kicks it back into high gear and it starts pouring again. That's musical storytelling. Hell yeah.

One of the greatest musical feats I have ever witnessed! God, it's so good! CHILLS!!!!
