It's an upbeat tune, but still chokes me up after 'all these years' (I'm sixty-four), I don't think anyone from my generation will ever stop feeling the pain of his death.

This was George's way of saying, goodbye and thank you to John.

Apart from the obviously great music, one of the reasons we still love The Beatles is we see their brotherhood.

That song was just so adorable and so sad at the same time. Adorable because it is. Sad because it's a reminder that Lennon and George aren't going to mend fences in this lifetime. Life is so short good friends ought to remain good at all times but so sad it doesn't happen that way. Such is life.

You are the best Cimdy. You truly get it. I remember watching Monday Night Football on December 8, 1980. The Miami Dolphins vs The New England Patriots. I remember rooting for one team, although I can't remember which, because it had some sort of potential playoff implications for my team. the Buffalo Bills. Towards the end of the regulation game, a scroll came across the bottom of the screen saying a former Beatle had been shot in New York City. It didn't say who, or what kind of physical condition they were in. Immediately, I thought of Paul McCartney. Paul had been busted for Marijuana possession in Japan earlier that year, and although improbable, the only thing I could think of was maybe some kind of drug deal gone bad. I remember hoping he'd be okay. Then, a short while later, Howard Cosell interrupted the game and said it was John Lennon, that he had been shot in the back, that he was rushed to the hospital, and that he was pronounced dead on arrival. I remember standing up from my chair in disbelief. All of a sudden, this game that meant so much to me only moments earlier meant absolutely nothing. The impact of knowing that this man of peace was so brutally murdered in front of his apartment, shot multiple times at point blank range in front of his wife for no apparent reason, was really unbearable at the time. And the pain of knowing the Beatles would never, ever reunite was overwhelming. And I can see you feel that same pain. You are the best. You truly get it. Peace

I had the game on, not really paying attention, but when I heard Howard say John Lennon had died, I stood straight up in my chair, in stunned disbelief. I still can't believe it.

Beatlemania broke The Beatles. RIP John Lennon. RIP George Harrison.

Love the video clips in this......they could be such goofballs.....thinking about it all now......does seem that John was at least the initial driving force behind them.....until Paul and the others came into their own.....I remember in the early days in interviews John was always the funny wise ass that would make cracks and they'd all start in.....damn I miss him....miss them all. The distance that came between them while unfortunate....is just part of life.....a natural thing....at some point we all need to find our own way.....the pressure on them all was nonstop tremendous.....as it is with celebrity status for many. We all need the space to just be ourselves......except for me of coarse.....I'm way too much of a space case as it is 🤪🤪🤪............💖🎼🤗🎼👍LUV YA💖🎼🤗🎼👍🤗💖💋

I was 10 when this came out in 1981. Received lots of playtime and was a worldwide hit. Ironically the Beatles had been apart for just 10 years up to that point. So it wasn't all those many years ago but it was never going to be anymore years as the fab 4..
