If you watch the complete fight with the sound muted to cut out the pro Jimmy Young crowd and Howard Cosell's stupid comments your eyes will show you that Foreman won this fight, also the ref took a point off Foreman when Young took a knee in round three and when Foreman slipped from a shoulder shove in round 12 the ref called it a knock down so there's 3 additional points for Young. The crowd hated Foreman because he hit Jose Roman when he was on the floor in 1973.

When you look at the fight you would notice that Foreman was desperate and fought dirty. This was why the crowd was against him. He was actually knocked down.

@@joelakinduyite6283 It was an official knock down just like Wepner's knock down of Ali but it wasn't a true knock down, Jimmy young never knock down anyone before or after this fight. Jose Roman was a Puerto Rican fighter that Foreman had hit when he was already down that's why they hated him but that's not the point anyway, the crowd influenced the referee and the judges scoring, Puerto Rican crowds were notorious for rioting if their favorite didn't win.

Jimmy probably learned something from ali.

I dont think even prime Foreman would beat Jimmy Young even before Ali. His careful approach here gave him stamina to get Young in trouble in round 7. I still believe Young being as elusive as he was would weather the storm against Foreman. The thing is the cautious Foreman didnt have the pace for really quick fighters with tough chins. The seek and destroy George was incredible the first few rounds then faded. I believe Young would of won still. His style was completely wrong for Foreman. Make no mistake, Foreman would of given a good fight. His chin was almost as good as Ali, he cut off the ring well, not to mention was extremely powerful. But with Young moving around and throwing sneeky shots, that would cause Foreman problems. I couldnt completely say Young would beat Foreman on his a game but it would be likely he would if he survives. Which is likely considering how good he is. Young had incredible heart, speed, reflexes and a tough chin. He doesnt get the credit. I believe even this Foreman who wasnt top form would beat Frazier and Norton in the same night. Young had a better chin than Norton and the out fighting skills Frazier didnt have. Frazier on his a game would of been a tougher fight for Young than the lot. Shorter , more precise punching and bob and weave. They both knew each other well. Great men. R.i.p

A mentally Peak Foreman before Ali would have destroyed Jimmy Young, he was trying to prove that he was able to last the full distance.

George won the fight. No question. The referee was a joke and the partisan crowd influenced the decision. No wonder George was in shock after the fight
