I miss this place so much. I’m Korean but I spent 18 months of my formative years in Christchurch. It’s not long but there are a handful of lasting crystal clear memories that I cherish. Most of my earliest memories are from my time there. I miss the blue skies, the Real minced meat pies (I later learned the rest of the world except Australia were calling dried fruit pies that. Disappointing as raisons in a cookie), animals everywhere, paua necklaces, the beach and the whales and seals, and just letting the wind move my body. It’s an idealised image through the eyes of a child, but still.

The pronunciation wasn't perfect, but obviously they did their research and said most things correctly. Personally as a New Zealander, I reckon you guys did better than most at not butchering our place names *for the most part*, a couple of things to point out would be that we call the North Island and South Island literally "The North Island" or "The South Island", also the big mountain chain of the North Island that goes from Wellington to Gisborne is called the Axial Ranges, Kaweka is one part of it. Imo there were probably a few cooler things to mention in the attractions like Coromandel or the longest place name from the start of the video, as well as all the comments I've seen about Taika Waititi. Overall great job of explaining our history and culture, one thing I noticed was missing was NZ's efforts in galipolli during WW1, which is kind of a big deal over here every ANZAC day. Great video guys. One mistake and an important event left out in the quick history segment. The Declaration of Independence by northern Māori tribes was 1835, The Waitangi Treaty was signed in 1840 starting with the northern tribes and the Land Wars followed from 1845 - 1875 as a reaction to the treaty.

Every time you mispronounced "Maori", I cried. Legitmately cried out loud (and winced with some other pronunciations), causing my housemates to ask me if I was feeling okay. But other than that, this was a great synopsis of my homeland and I love your work overall. And thank you especially for pointing out the supervolcano, as I often have trouble getting people to believe me when I tell them about it.
