Fun fact: the Waka Waka song "from" Shakira is actually an Cameroonian Song, sang by the Cameroon an military 😉. Sooooo... Shakira kinda stole the lyrics and most Cameroonian people (like my mom) kinda get triggered when they hear that song 😂😂

Desert Shakira cannot steal that music or anything pertaining to that song by zangalewa! In fact, she got rights to use it, putting Cameroon 🇨🇲 again on the map and giving credits to that military musical group Zangalewa. Also, giving us that love and connection to soccer on so many levels without mentioning Roger Milla (one of the greatest soccer player of all times), or as Americans would say “Roger Miller”!

People are suffering there because of the greed of the president who ruled for 40 years especially in the anglophone regions where over 30000 people has been killed and over 800000 people has fled their homes due to the bad ruling of cameroon. You are so brainwashed. Corruption isn't the issue in Cameroon. Because if we talk about corruption, Europe and America are MUCH MORE corrupt than Africa (except they hide it and you don't question it). The issue is its endless ties to France. Just read the independence treaty between France and Cameroon. Please stop trying to speak for a country you know nothing about, it's seriously insulting. And keep your fake pity with you, we don't need it.

So corrupt upt that if the president wants to do something wrong the senate alone can stop that. So corrupt that you can impeach the president, so corrupt that transparency International rank the west in the top 10 and the US in the top 20. So corrupt that you have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the freedom to compete against the president for the next elections, so corrupt that the president has to have a team and a Vice President to make decisions with him, so corrupt that the president can’t pas laws in the country if the majority of representatives and senators vote with him, so corrupt that the president can’t declare War only the senate can. Wow this country is so corrupt that there are so much people from different races and religions and regions in power. Too corrupt.

I am Cameroonian and I am impressed you know so much things about Cameroon given that you might certainly have never been then. Well, because of our diverse population, English speaking Cameroon are generally close to Nigerians, French Speaking Cameroonians are close to other french speaking countries around (Gabon, Republic of Congo, Central Africa Republic) and even further (Cote d'Ivoire). Littoral isn't original either! It is a french word that means "on the seaside". You forgot to mention that a lot of African Americans traced their roots to Cameroon (including the William Sisters, Ophrah Winfrey, Condoleeza Wright, etc.)

Point of correction! The red color is for the blood our forefathers shed during the war of decolonization. The star is for the unity of the English speaking and the French speaking Cameroon. Indeed, prior to the reunification, we actually had two yellow stars on the green side of the flag and it was called the Federal Republic of Cameroon that later became the Republic of Cameroon. Nice video!

Cameroon, officially the Republic of Cameroon, is a country in Central Africa. It is bordered by Nigeria to the west and north; Chad to the northeast; the Central African Republic to the east; and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo to the south. Cameroon's coastline lies on the Bight of Biafra, part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. Although Cameroon is not an ECOWAS member state, it is geographically and historically in West Africa with the Southern Cameroons which now form her Nord-Ouest and Sud-Ouest Regions having a strong West African history. However, since 2017, elements within the Sud-Ouest and Nord-Ouest regions have since declared an independent (yet internationally unrecognized) state called Ambazonia. The country is sometimes identified as West African and other times as Central African due to its strategic position at the crossroads between West and Central Africa. Cameroon is home to over 250 native languages spoken by nearly 20 million people.

Thanks for mentioning Lake Nyos and Mount Fako. Experiencing the 2000 Mount Fako eruption was like doomsday where your only preparation was to hope that the lava doesn't flow into your house if the house survived the earthquakes that occured during the eruption. Kudos.

As a fellow Cameroonian, i have to say i really did enjoy this episode, the information wasn't watered-down as most schools/organization would tend to do so. i didn't want the video to end, there was so much more i wish we had time to cover but all in all great video. i must also point out that although in the general sense everyone gets along with everyone (within the nation), there have been very strong evidences of tribalism where one tribe believes themselves to be superior to the other. there was bad blood between the two former president (allegedly) being that Ahidjo was from the north and Biya is from the east and there was the whole coup d'état thing that happened. following this event are the allegations that people from the east attempted an ethnic-cleansing on the people belonging to the north. Anyway thanks for sharing info on our country, hopefully some interesting questions and convos relating to the country will be brought up in these comment sections lol keep up the good work. P.S for those asking, the city that was mispronounced is pronounced Dou-wah-lah (Douala), la capitale économique du Cameroun.

Nice presentation Paul B. I just realised that your name is similar to Paul Biya, the old man on the Cameroonian throne. Oh and for sure Cameroon is the best country to visit in Africa to get 'The All African Experience' in one country and spending less money. The food there is good and cheap. Very easy to navigate through the country if you got cash.
