I am from Benin, and he actually butchered most of the pronunciation ^^. But hey, it couldn't be helped, the pronunciation is quite difficult sometimes. Overall, it is a pretty good video, I really enjoyed watching it :)

I took a DNA test as well in 2018 which at first didn't reveal Benin/Togo at all but after a reconfiguration of more accurate data it turned out that I am 38% Benin/Togo

I know right!! I was trying to learn about the Albania-Serbia conflict history (after watching the Granit Xhaka - Xherdan Shaqiri double-eagled pro-Kosovo Albanian celebrations at the Switzerland v Serbia match at the FIFA World Cup 2018), and ended up getting hooked to it.

Devin Mitchell I can't really speak for Wonder Why, but I know that CGP Grey has a system but he does extensive research on all topics which takes up the bulk of his time and editing comes second with the stylized animation. He talks about it a lot on Hello Internet

Thank you so much for these! The pronunciation, as well as the content, is so helpful. I teach middle school history, and we use these to supplement our geography studies/tests. That way students are learning about the countries whose names they are memorizing.

When you are talking about west african countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin southern part of Nigeria and northern part of Cameroon) you should mention about that tribes are in language very close in these areas. And if you are going to talk about history in some cases you should look in to it as "when muslims concurred modern day "Mali" region some of the people from Ghana empire who refused to change their religion fled and mixed with the people of "forest" Btw sry for English. Not first language.

@@kiampakuingi9812 It was changed for neutral reasons, since the name "Dahomey" is heavily tied with the Fon people, and as mentioned over 40 ethnic groups live in Benin, so the name kind of implies favoritism to the Fon.
