    It's interesting how every names in Genshin relates to the real world individuals weather from History or Fiction. And it's all connected on the overall lore and story of the game too. Their writing team is simply Genius.

    Here's a few more I really like: 1. Nahida's title, Kusanali, comes from a short story from Hinduism called Kusanali Jataka, where the main character is a tree fairy. That story has a lot of similarities to the Tree Parable in Behind the Sun and Moon btw. 2. Favonius is the Roman name for Zephyrus, the western wind god of Greek mythology. There are many wind gods in Greek mythology and only a few named, although the four cardinal winds are the most important. The other relevant one in Mondstadt lore is Boreas, the northern wind, another name for the wolf Andrius. His Roman name is Aquilo. This just proves that Genshin's Four Winds are supposed to be a parallel although not exact, and Favonius is representing Vennessa. Now, all wind gods in general are called the anemoi, winds in Greek. The Roman equivalent is a literal translation to Latin... which is the venti. Since Venti is part of the thousand winds and the one who can command them, and the one recruiting the Four Winds... suddenly his chosen human name comes together as slightly less silly 3. Furina likely comes from an obscure Roman spring goddess called Furrina 4. Let's talk about Cyno adjacent things. His name is a Greek word/prefix that means dog, but his name comes from two ancient Egyptian cities called Cynopolis. One of them had a temple and cult to the god Anubis, the god his aesthetic and lore is based on. Now Hermanubis, the spirit he possesses and one of Deshret's Seven Sages, is named after a similar god, the syncretism or fusion of Greek Hermes and Egyptian Anubis. Finally, Sethos is named after another Egyptian god, Set or Seth, who normally has an antagonic role but isn't evil in all myths

    Nibelung story makes sense now that we know that the gnoses were made from the third descender, in before sun and moon we learn that the primordial one was the first decender and the shades were the second who came, after they defeated the sorveings note that it says they were "vanquished" not killed, and it's theorized that nibelung scaped to the abyss and was changed to the point of no recognition as the abyss does to those who spend enough time in it, and because of that he was called the third decender, after his defeat the gnoses were made from his remains, we also learned from arleccino that the gnoses bring misfortune to those in its possession just like the ring of Nibelung

    Not if it turns out he's the son of the cryo archon and the cryo sovereign dragon. He has displayed great strength. In his demo he destroyed a mech that's about twice his size and in his story quest he lifted Dougier, a guy that looks older than him, up with one hand higher than even his toes can reach.

    @@theunlikelygenshingamer@theunlikelygenshingamer my theory is that, Paimon is the moon sister. -> remember, in last melunise quest, there were 3 seelies and there was hint that, melunise asked "have you played with seelies before" And paimon said, " hahaha.... play?? Yea " ( i know hoyo doesnt just put some stoopid dialouges right... right?? ) -> her namecard -> the music cover "dream area". -> so if she is aria then other two sis is abyss moon and teyvar moon.

    She is probably the missing primordial one, the monad. Remember in the traveler's character profile text: "The keeper is fading away; the creator has not yet come. But the world shall burn no more, for you shall ascend." I believe that the creator is likely Paimon, and she will probably help us ascend to godhood at the end, once she finally reclaims her rightful throne and kingdom that she once lost.

    Reasonable persons: Only those whose heart is pure and full of love my take this world ending powerful artefact. The rhine maidens: Only those whose heart is completed corrupted and have utterly renounced love in all its forms may take this world ending powerful artefact. On a related note I recall hearing somewhere that in order to get the ring he had to make the rhine maidens fall in love with him and give it to him which not only makes more sense but also has strong parallels to the god kings Deshret, Remus, Decarabian and even Morax each getting secrets about fate from what seem to be moon maidens by earning their love. Although it seems Morax never managed to get to his.

    Pretty much. They just replaced the rose for the narcissus. The Ordo itself is pretty much a lot of rosenkreuz/freemasonry mysticism and references in a trenchcoat. Hell, there's a lot of freemasonry shit hidden in other places too, like Kaveh's earrings

    There are many interesting secrets we all want to know about the lore. But somehow Paimon is really the biggest mystery I want answers of. I'm just impatient because we know her lore will only be revealed once we get to Celestia and even then its not a guarantee since Hoyo revealed there will be Genshin 2.😢

    I’d take the “Genshin 2” thing with a grain of salt. It’s more likely a translation error, if not an outright misunderstood statement. If they have something planned, I bet it’s a bigger update or overhaulfor the existing Genshin game.

    To add to the list of names, we have: 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢, this one is interesting because seems to reference different entities, most of them serpents or serpentine dragons: •Ouroboros: an Egyptian symbol of a snake devouring its own tail, which spread to other cultures through the Greek tradition and later adopted by Gnosticism and alchemy as a symbol of the renewal cycle of life or infinity. This is the less likely association, but I included it anyway, even though we may get a better one in Natlam. •Orochi: a serpentine dragon from the Japanese mythology slain by the Storm God Susanoo-no-Mikoto. •Orobas: from Ars Goetia, he's Great Prince of Hell, he can foresee the future, protect others from their enemies, and grants the power to control others. 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧: this name is exactly as the God of Thunder from the Japanese mythology, also known as Raijin, Narukami, or Raikou (for Pokemon fans). 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞: probably named after Sigeminne, a half-serpent woman similar to Melusina present in the Germanic folklore. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐯𝐫𝐞𝐮𝐬𝐞: probably a reference to Marie Aimée de Rohan, also known as Madame de Chevreuse, a French courtier and political activist from the 17th century. In The Three Musketeers, she's the alleged mistress of Aramis and mother of Athos.

    @@theunlikelygenshingamer I'm glad I could provide some insight. Keep in mind the use "probably", those are speculations, not confirmations. It's not uncommon in anime, or anime-like games to have a lot of references, and Hoyo is doing it in every game. I rarely see authors credit the source of inspiration for their characters. Doing it will ruin the fun in finding it yourself or speculate about it. I can recognize the names of some Melusines from different European countries folk tales, which is an interesting touch.

    I'm very curious about Fischl, not from the book, but Amy and Ose, Os (pronounced as - Oze, Oz on Latin).

  • @darkdude1996ify

    @darkdude1996ify

    My assumption wass that Osial (or Oseru, as the JP dub calls him) is filling that role, but you could have a point. Since they've messed around with and modified various names, like Focalor, Orobas, Decarabia, Havres etc I just kinda assumed they did the same with Osial, but I guess it could be a similar situation to Guoba/Marchosius for example. Also makes me wonder if the Seelies are a reference to Seir/Seere. The "help in finding hidden treasures" part seems to match, at least

  • @Xelluse

    @Xelluse

    Ай бұрын

    @@darkdude1996ify Osial name most likely also was inspired from Ose (pronounced Oz in Latin, S = Z, also in Ars Goetia he is also written as Oze, and E after Z is not pronounced, so name Oze is pronounced as Oz....), but he do not match description of Ose, also Amy and Ose (Oz) fit in description from Ars Goetia. So no one said that they can't use name similarities for different creatures. Also very interesting thing is that Amy fits quite well into description of Fischl too in the game..... This is very sus.... Yes, they most likely are inspired by Seirs too, also they are most likely some sort of mix from different legends, as many other things btw.
