GENITIVE PLURAL - Russian cases

Genitive plural is considered to be the hardest of all Russian cases. Right, only Genitive Plural has DIFFERENT ENDINGS FOR MASCULINE AND FEMININE AND NEUTER. That means when you put a word in Genitive Plural, you have to be sure about the gender of the noun. Let's go through it together!

How to work with my video lessons? At first watch it and repeat all Russian sentences out loud and record yourself to check your pronunciation. After watching put down all sentences you can remember. Watch the video again in 5-6 hours and correct the mistakes in your sentences if you have any. Do the homework that I usually give at the end of each lesson. Watch the video again in 2 days and make your own examples with the patterns used.
If something is not 100% clear, don't hesitate to ask anything in the comments. Thank you for watching.

    What I absolutely 💯 percent love about your videos, Alfia, is you speak much Russian! Too many videos speak mainly English in teaching Russian which is a major mistake and breaks us out of the habit we are trying to form psychically, mentally, а так далее. Your combination of the perfect amount of English and Russian combined gives perfect understanding! And you speak at such a pace that gives a challenge which works the brain to a PEAK of TRYING to achieve something in proper speed, which strengthens the learning muscles even more. Мне очень нравится! Also I found you two days ago after seven months of studying Russian and I finally got to the grammar point to complete Genitive Plurals and Instrumental plurals (the ones that were stumbling me for a bit). I'm finally understanding enough with just a few lessons of yours. :) Soon I shall be encorporating these new studies into my Russian journal with much ease. Спасибо!

  • @manalishi_hs

    Genitive Plural is BY FAR the MOST ANNOYING PART of the Russian language Even when you take the time to study Russian cases, I believe any person can put in the work and have 90-95% accuracy with all of the cases, EXCEPT Genitive Plural Because it is so random and even sometimes completely changes the shape of the word. You can't just memorize an -AX -ЯХ ending, like with Prepositional for example. In Genitive you have -ЕЙ, or -ОВ, or ручек/денег/книг, etc Everytime I come across a Genitive Plural, all I can do is try to take a lucky guess (((

  • @Alfia

    @Alfia

    2 жыл бұрын

    Right, right 😏 the thing is you have to be totally sure if the word is feminine or masculine. And even knowing that there can be 2-3 options. But nothing is impossible. You'll just have to spend more time drilling that. "Ов" works only for masculine. "Ручек, книг" ... and other zero endings are for feminine and neuter.

  • @manalishi_hs

    @manalishi_hs

    @@Alfia Interesting! I didn't know that -Ов was only masculine I think i will learn many of them just by being constantly corrected by my Russian friends xD

    Здравствуйте из Бразилии! Отлично! Вы супер! Спасибо за класс. Я мечтаю знать русский язык. One day I'll get there. I got a bit confused about the prepositions requiring the genitive case. There's the prepositional case which as far as I understand cause the endings to change, на примере, в офисе, на море, на полу, на машине, в комнате, на улице,.. anyways, the prepositional case is only followed by В И НА? Other prepositions shown in this video falls in the genitive case? Obrigado do Brasil. Você é ótima!

    Привет! Спасибо огромное 🥰 As for your question. We use в, на in Prepositional case when answering the question "where at" - где. Ты где? - В офисе. And we use в, на in Accusative case with verbs of motion answering the question "where to" - куда. Куда ты едешь? - В офис. In Genitive we use из, с, от - from. Откуда ты едешь? - Из офиса. I believe, I explained that in one of my videos here kzread.info/dash/bejne/iHhqsKOFpZvYY9o.html

    Привет. Ещё вопрос пожалуйста: Когда тв просишь, на пример, сколько планета? Или сколько планетов? Planets which you don’t know the number so it could be more than 4, also the quantitative “сколько». Does it make sense? Thanks and congratulations for your talent as a teacher. Спасибо. Пока

  • @Alfia

    @Alfia

    Если вы знаете, что слово исчисляемое (countable), после слова "сколько" используем Genitive plural: Сколько планет? Это женский род, поэтому нулевое окончание - zero ending.

    Я иду от друзьей. Инна была у подруги. Мы были у коллегов. Сергей вчера приехал из Соединённых Штатов. В нашем городе мало школ. На свадьбу мы пригласили 50 гост. Отсюда до моих родителей всего 20 километров. 8. От этих деревьей до этих машин всего 100 метров. В Европе много мор и озёр. Там нечего делать без деньгов. Вместо занятий он пошёл гулять с друзьями. Не ходи около этих собак, это может быть опасно. После уроков мы идём на каток. Из-за проблем на работе он не поедет в отпуск в этом году. Все уже приехали, кроме моих родителей. У моих друзей шесть детей. Сколько людей придёт к тебе на вечеринку? Я учу русский язык уже пять месяцов. Мы вернёмся через десять дней. Мы приготовили много пельменей.
