Koreans are constantly improving reliability, albeit behind Toyota, who is building less and less reliable cars now. There are many ways down when you’re at the top. Remember when Sony was the largest electronic manufacturer in the world back in the 90’s? Samsung said it will surpass Sony in 10 years and people laughed. And Samsung surpassed Sony in the 2000’s. Same thing happened to ship building. Japanese lost to Koreans after leading the world for years. Koreans are now the world’s largest ship builder by sails currently. China is close behind, actually higher by numbers of ships built but not by actual sales dollars. However China is the Walmart of ship building.

I am not the biggest fan of Genesis' 2 line light theme. But they are really killing it with their high end models and performance models.

This has got to be the hottest marketing strategy I've ever seen, and that pun was 100% intentional. I'm super pumped to get the chance to check out this lineup when I go to the New York Auto Show this Monday.

I love these designs and colors. Whats the concept car on the far right? I'd love to see tbe eventual production car that comes out if they do produce something from it. Edit: watched gull video, got it. Amazing concept. Hopefully they make a more mainstream performance sports car out of the design too. Like Jaguar did with the C-X75 and C-X16 that lead to the F-Type.

The coupe does look sick.

On the GV60, they did fix the beak shaped styled nose and the Z shape lightning bolt C pillar treatment. It’s much improved. 8:18

The nose seems to be the same, and the Z is just black now. 5:53 most of the changes are just the vents.

Just want the damn Hyundai N Vision 74. That is the car that will break the supercar market. Hope it will look close to the concept. Crossing my fingers.

is this "performance" sub-brand actually entails changes to important mechanical bits like transmission and powertrain or is this just some warm over body kits? Because lowering the car, having wider tires and having more durable electric motor doesn't seem like a lot and certainly won't compete against AMG, M, or even Lexus F

The berlinetta is cool but will any of the rest of those cars even be able to touch a M3 or M5? there's more to performance cars than 0-60s

There also rumors in Korea they are thinking to get the Hyundai N74 and the X-Concept into the market by 2026. Hyundai executives had a memo leak not too long ago that made its rounds on Korean auto forums on the key talking points of how many they were planning to produce, the timeline to do it in and where they were thinking of re-tooling the factory to build them.

Considering how far behind their standard cars are behind the German standards in terms of performance, I wouldn't be surprised if this fights the M-Lite. The actual M might be a hill a bit too high for them to climb

Awesome news. I’ll take a Magma g70 to go with my ND Miata… and my Minivan. Wouldn’t a Magma colored six-speed shift knob be glorious. I know they originally had a MT, but is was rubbery and the clutch peddle was worse. Invest in the FEEL OEMS and we will pay.

“Hot liquid magma” I’m for it but they really need to do something on the reliability front. It’s their only real weakness next to the dealership network

The inspiration behind Genesis for example is great, but the execution is terrible when you lack reliability and a good dealer network. Now they want to go against Germans before they figure the other stuff out.

Hard to get excited about a brand you will never buy

Sold and managed a Hyundai dealership within our group from 1999 until 2018 when they had me go to Toyota within our group. Not a bad looking product and performance is definitely going to be there but Genesis is still lacking resale value much like Mercedes-Benz and BMW and many other high line vehicle makes.

Magma doesn't seem to use anything but the mild hybrid 3.5TT or the amped up electric motors in the Ionic 5 N, I saw the release last night. HMG has decided to invest in their ICE engine R&D again over the last few days, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a few new engines appear within the next year or so that are more fuel efficient. The hybrid 2.5T was already the works, some version should be making an appearance this year. Once they started seeing those full electric models start piling up, most of the brands starting pulling back. Toyota was the smartest of them by not going all in on full electric models.

When i first heard about this. I was like "About Damn Time"..Some Real comp for AMG & M cars. I dt include the Donut Cars - lol.. Chargers, Hellcats & V cars. They only good for making Donuts... So, Genesis is on the right path going full force. The WHOLE line up on ATTACK.. This way Ppl can hav a chioce on which one they want to buy. Instead of one or two cars a year stretching over 3-4 years. Like BMW do as they come out with a line up first and then the M car comes out 2 years later. And i really hope Genesis bring these cars out like u said. In two levels. Med-hot to Real HOTT.. Maybe a Lava model 400-450hp then the Top Magma models be 500-600hp which will be enough. That's more then enough power for everybody. The Germans are headed towards 700hp+ wars. Which is nonsense.. Make it Simple & Right instead of Right & Simple... 👍

What a weird name, lol. Perhaps they should establish their own dealership network fully before setting out on these types of cars... Car buyers will be in for a rude awakening when they have to buy and service their cars right next to a Hyundai/Kia dealership. They have a horrible reputation. I once tried getting a test drive for a Stinger, but they wouldn't let me and would only allow it if they ran a credit check first... like wtf? They treat their cars like they're high end exotics, when they're not lol.

Lexus f sport is design for old people with no flavor and cheaper ride quality than Genesis. Why do you think Genesis has higher hp than Lexus. Hell even Acura is above higher than Lexus when it comes to driving dynamics with it's SHAWD. And yes, Lexus is behind in driving dynamics than Genesis. Genesis is Hyundai. I bought a 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Ultra. They made very few of these. It was a different type of Hyundai it has everything one can want. It cost me 34K + extended 100K. Hyundai fought every warranty item. I needed a new engine at 100K, I paid for that, I paid for a CATALYTIC Converter at 101K, Waterpump, battery, push-button Ignition, and numerous other mechanical items, I have reams of documentation. Genesis is a just a Hyundai time bomb. The buyer will pay and pay. Japanese cars are the benchmark. Hyundai Sucks! One time they gave me back the car very dirty? I thought that was odd. Went home the next day went to the car wash where I have suscriptions and realized the glass roof was shattered under the dirt. I was lucky to find one on ebay that was just removed to be parted out. I have nothing good to say about Hyundai.
