Generate Power with the Metal Refinery - Steel Production into Max Steam Power- Oxygen Not Included

Ойындар

Use the Metal Refinery to Generate a lot of power while making Steel! Tips & Tricks for the Metal Refinery.
With this design, it is only power positive when smelting steel and after all the steam has cooled down back below 125 Celsius, assuming the battery capacity and no power is over charged.

    Yeah honestly i have been using like a frozen core as a crutch for a while. im at the stage of where im going to start using this stuff to normalize the temp of my base. I really do appreciate your videos so much.

    This setup extracts more heat but is more complex than what I use. I would just cool the crude oil directly in the AT steamroom.

    Haven't considered doing it like this, I've always cooled the cooling for the refinery with an ice box or something, rather than extract the heat for power.

    the cooling of the liquid medium inside the refinery works too! especially if you lack plastic or oil to do this build

    Not higher temperatures is better . There is a limit on 5 opening of steam turbine cap the power generation at 200c steam . Any more then that is just wasted heat that need the thermal aqua turner to keep cool

    while you can, water and any variation of water is almost 2x more effective than crude oil due to its stats

    @@2LegitCity ahhh ok cool thank you. i really do appreciate it. i thought it would be easier cause it doesnt freeze or vaporize as quick. Ok when im doing a steam turbine i have seen people use one and others use 2 should i just use one aquatuner? sorry im not really caught up. The last time i really got into the game super computers scalded dupes and germas were a huge deal. One last thing about morale. and this might be self evident or a quick google search. But what morale does a dupe need to be to be overjoyed?

    @@2LegitCity Oh wow you are the dude that made the video. Thanks for responding king. One last thing i started to turn hatches in to the stone ones. But they seem way tougher. is it worth making them into stone?

  • @2LegitCity

    @2LegitCity

    10 ай бұрын

    @@VirtualHolocaust the stone hatches are stronger but "evolve" just as fast in water. theres no issue with them normally and are good for their expanded mineral diet. the number of aquatuners you have per steam box is really determined by how much active cooling you need. you can always make a new steam box+aq overjoyed reactions: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aoKC0Zqgk5mXk9I.html

    @@2LegitCity so the idea with stone hatches is that they can eat more than just sandstone? Thats why they are valuable? And sorry for my ignorance. you mean making a kill tank for them? the water part. And thanks for the video link!

  • @2LegitCity

    that is true for buildings that generate heat. in this case, some buildings (like the liquid reservoir) have weird properties in a vacuum that we utilize

    is making everything out of non refined metals ok?

  • @2LegitCity

    @2LegitCity

    2 жыл бұрын

    isnt that just the tempshift plates? the radient piping / automation / steam turbine all require refined metals and arent buildable with non-refined. liquid reservoirs are metal ores. refinery and insulated pipes are raw minerals. if you do use metal ore for the tempshifts, it just means you have to wait longer for the oil to cool down

    @@2LegitCity ok its just that i never made refinery before and its kinda overwhelming(mainly steel)(i watched ur basics vid on refining) i dont even have access to oil

  • @2LegitCity

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@NamelessY oh gotcha. i will say that this build is more advanced and designed to get more out of the metal refinery. if youre just starting out to refine metal using the refinery, you dont have to use oil. any liquid will do, but you have to pay attention to the state change temperature from liquid -> gas of liquid you choose. i was using oil as my refinery liquid and its very popular to use because of the temperature range it has ( -50c -> 400c ) so you can cool it down with a steam turbine. so you can do something like piping in water to the intake, and then use insulated pipes from the outtake to feed into something like electrolyzers. that way the hot water gets consumed and you dont have to worry about it. if thats too much or you dont have a electrolyzer setup, you could find a pool of water, pump water to feed your metal refinery and simply dump it back into the same water pool. this is great for getting started but doesnt last long term. eventually the pool of water gets too hot and you cant use it anymore. hopefully by then you can use the refined metals to help you get to oil!
