General Tikka Khan assumed the office of Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Army on March 3, 1972 after General Gul Hassan Khan was sacked by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
He was a very down to earth person. He respected his teachers. When he was Army Chief, he invited his school teacher at Army House, his official residence at Rawalpindi. Out of sheer respect he pressed (sort of massage) his teacher's legs.
