It's annoying that transexuals who want to compete in women's sports are acting like victims- they're not the victims in this situation, women are.

I'm almost 44 years on hormones & closing on 4 decades post-op. This is utter madness and should not be allowed. It's nothing more than legalized cheating in my eyes to allow a male to female trans person to compete in women's sport and no It is not being transphobic to speak out about this, It's just stating the obvious. When I was younger and used to go work out at the Gym with my late husband. I got on well with the gym owner's wife. One day she took me to one side and asked me if I was going to enter the Miss physique contest that was coming up. I said no what ever made you think that. I workout for my own benefit not to compete against others. I would not do that, it would be so unfair. That's not something I could ever do to a woman. The relief on her face was overwhelming; she was almost in tears. She said it had been worrying her for some time as we would have been in the same Height and weight class and that she had won many years running. She was 6ft tall & I was 5ft 9" just over. Today's trans people seem to be so far removed and blinkered to what being female is that they can not even empathise with a woman or see their own advantages they have over them in these areas when it comes to competing in sports. I find it hurtful and embarrassing. what it is to be transsexual as been hijacked over the decades and made a mockery of by these types that you point out. Its gone from transsexuals fixing a personal mind and body mismatch issue with one's self and then getting on with our lives unnoticed as best we can. To folk now who do not want to make any effort to be what they claim to be who actually thrive on the attention and privileges it grants them under the term transgender with all these new woke laws etc. Many are out to make others around them change their perceptions of what a woman is or fall foul of the woke policing. It is lunacy at its best. I get labelled at TERF quite often because I will not side with these folks and their crazy demands and expectations. Transsexuals should not even be lumped under the term transgender as far as i am concerned. It's not even in the same postcode. I find all this very demeaning of all I went through and suffered growing up in the 1970's and early 1980s to be happy within my own skin. My intentions and actions back then were to change myself so I could be happy within my own skin, not to force the world around me to change or pay the price. There are different definitions of the word TRANSGENDER , The most prevalent is those who are political in nature and refers to anyone who considers themselves as different in terms of sex or gender. Most transsexual persons refuse to be lumped in with the TG Community, but others like non-op TG persons see political value in working together. A transgender person is someone who deliberately lives in a way opposed to their physical sex. For example, if a person is born with female genitalia and wants to keep it, but expresses and feels that they are a boy mentally, then they are transgender. Transsexual and transgender is not the same thing as transsexual is only applicable to those born with a need to correct their genitals as best they can, while most transgender people desire to keep their original genitalia. A person is born with transsexualism, the whole idea of the surgery is to stop having transsexualism and to get on with life as if they never had the condition. For me and many of my old friends it was important to fix our mind and body mismatch ASAP and then get on with our lives. Often going stealth and only letting those who need to know about our past know. The term transgender covers a wide spectrum of different folks. Most of whom are more vocal/visible. Hence more well known by the public online and offline as they tend to go out of their way to make their presence known and felt. Where as many of use old school transsexual's the aim was to fix the issue and move on with our lives unnoticed. Many of us had to make big sacrifices like losing family members and old friends and moving to avoid publicity at times. As that for us would defeat the whole object of fixing the issues we had with ourselves in the 1st place. For us it is not a badge we wear. Just a distant unhappy memory we rather leave behind us and not dwell on. This leads to our side of the story being less heard by the public, leaving them to assuming the outspoken ones most often seen kicking off on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & KZread etc are what its all about for all under the umbrella term transgender. Which is not the case at all. There are many of us out there in the world that can hold conversations with folk who disagree with us without resorting to branding them transphobic or getting catty and bitchy. It's a shame so many of these outspoken trans folks will brand someone transphobic at the drop of a hat yet forget it took themselves years to understand and accept their own situation. Bit hypocritical if you ask me. But hey that's what happens when what it is to be transsexual gets hijacked and turn in to a trans radical agenda/movement. It's now become a money spinner for many. It's like reality TV with a large helping of soap opera thrown in for good measure. Fed to an ever growing gullible audience grasping at straws. They have only gotten away with it for so long because transsexuals tend to avoid outing themselves as it defeats the object of fixing the mind and body mismatch in the 1st place if you're going to and broadcast that you did it. I'm older now my husband as passed away I have nothing to loose and some one needs to speak up for the genuine transsexuals and point out the difference that the transgender agenda as tried to blur. I did my SRS in the beginning of the1980s then I just got on with my life with my late husband after my surgery. So was quite shocked when after my husband sudden death 31 years later and I went searching for a Post-op Transsexual widows support group and only found the embarrassing radical transgender agenda movement crap online that only serves to make a mockery of what it is to be Transsexual and trample all over women right as if they don't even matter. Many of today's trans folk are a breed unto themselves who lack empathy for women and women's rights. I find all this shameful, embarrassing and hurtful. My advice to anyone who is planning to come out as trans, is to invest in some big girl knickers 1st and stop trampling all over women's rights.

This person who said they would always be viewed as a man in a dress, was hurt. Biological sex is real, a trans woman is just that a TRANS woman. You will always be a trans woman, it’s a fact. You can not be a biological woman no matter how you feel. It’s sad, it’s tragic that you have this condition if your trans and I don’t celebrate your emotional difficulties. I recognize them. However, these trans women, ie biological men, don’t respect women’s spaces and demand equality based solely on how they self identify.

You can’t have transgender in women’s sports regardless of what goes on in their mind, their bodies are still men’s bodies. It’s not a fair competition. The reason sports are divided into men’s and women’s is because people realise women have different bodies, stamina etc and weaker compared to men. Women can never be equal to men physically because women are created differently from men and are made to do different things in life. Transgender in women’s sports means inequality to other women, they will be at a disadvantage. Stop being illogical and ridiculous.

When Oscar Pristorius tried to join the Men's category in athletics, the other male athletes and officials called for biomechanical testing of his carbon fibre prostheses. They were found to give him an unfair advantage against Men, and so he competed within a category of para-athletics. No screaming about "amputee-phobia". This seems to be a solution for these people-a separate category where they can compete fairly against one another.

Surely the clue is in the name. TransGENDER, not tranSEXUAL as it used to be called before the distinction between gender and sex filtered out into the mainstream 10 or so years ago. As the feminist around 10minutes says, let male compete against males and females compete against females. And if you don't think that's fair, why should the rules be changed to benefit the 1% over the 99%? Or to be more specific, why should 1% of males get to dominate 99% of females?

Why don't they create a transgender only option? In addition to males and females? Its the only way I see of things being fair for everyone where transgender women (and transgender men also) can still compete. I get that they see themselves as women (or men) but seeing and actually being a woman biologically is not the same. No matter how much you argue otherwise. It is still male bodies competing with female bodies and that will never be fair competition. To me this is not a complicated issue at all. Just create new categories for transgender people.

If this was taken from me, while males moved into yet another arena and I could be a protected female athlete I would have felt violated. I am a woman, born a woman, with ALL of the struggles unique to women. Yes!!! Women have their struggles too. Let us have our own playing Fields. Play socially, but you are NOT women. I don’t think anyone should be nasty or pick on trans women. As a born woman myself I can not understand how it has come to genuine woman being to afraid to speak up for our rights.the word woman belongs to us.It’s our birth right.we have fought long and hard for our right’s and no little girl or woman should once again be marginalised by men.men and women are different physically from shape, size, muscle, organ size like lunges.Right down to our bones.there are visible differences between male and female skeletons.life is not fair nobody ever said it was, nobody gets everything they wanted or dreamed of.so why do trans women think they can make a demand and get it by shutting women up by force?we make up 50 odd percent trans are something around 2 percent.so women have every right to speak up with out fear.to scream and brand women as transphobic is utter nonsense.men can’t infringe on women rights. What is more important being a woman or competing? They need to choose.there are to few of them to have their own sports game’s,why on earth must we as born females give up anything to born males and accommodate them.

Very interesting video. What I found fascinating was that the trans women at the beginning were quite happy when they were hearing different stories and so forth and then the minute that the female weightlifter began to present facts --indisputable facts-- regarding the gender difference of a trans woman and a woman, their faces transmorphed into angry men that were REALLY scary. IF I'm ever in the presence of a man and his face begins to look like their faces did, I get out of there real fast! I think that tells you everything you need to know ☺

This has been up 2 weeks and no comments. Women have fought to have our spaces. Its been a long hard fight. And we are still fighting for our spaces. I don't understand how some trans women feel that's its appropriate to compete against biological women. It's selfish. It's putting ones own wants above what's best for all. Rec teams are one thing. Professional sports is another.

Since when did women fight for spaces? Everything was separated by sex for most of history. Women have always had female sports, women's hospitals, girls schools etc. In fact, over the last few decades all the male only spaces have been closed or forced to accept women, Like boys scouts, male schools, various male clubs and organisations, were all forced to close or accept women. I still dont think trans should compete in womens sports but this is a very recent thing.

While I agree with you, I'm not sure what the solution is. I'd argue transitioning from male to female post puperty gives the transgender athlete an unfair advantage in almost every sport against biological women. I also don't think there are enough transgender athletes in each sport in order for them to have a separate category along side men's and women's sports - giving them their own category would likewise be an exclusion from the gender they identify with. All in all, I don't know what the solution is, but what they're currently doing definitely isn't working.

Caster Semenya who was born female even was excluded from the olympic games because she produced naturally high levels of testosterone. Why should former males than be included even if they still have a physical advantage over women even after lowering their testosterone. I understand the concern of these women and it has nothing to do with not accepting transgender people but there's just that biological advantage that you cannot count out in competitive sports.

To be seen as equal and welcomed then someone joining something would be seen as nothing will change but the fact a different type of person is apart of the team. However thats not the case, cause trans women will still have the strength advantage against born women. It would not be fair.

There are numerous advantages of a male physiology. Also, multiple studies have shown that HRT has very little impact on overall performance. Hips, joints, lungs, heart, fast twitch muscles, hands, height, bones. There is plenty of evidence as well as a lot of empirical evidence. Lia Thomas was ranked 600th in the male swimming sports. The track runnsers who transed were rated 300 in track, then in women;s track broke many records and won 14/15 NCAA titles.

Why do people like this have to make everything so complicated and take everything so personal. For anyone who is so sick of this like I am you should definitely watch Blair white.. She is a man that transition into a female a absolutely dropped dead gorgeous female i might add but she is aware that she is not a woman and that she cannot give birth and she will never call herself a woman always a transwoman. Just because you take estrogen and want to be a woman doesn't make you one. If you Do not have the reproductive organs of a woman if you have not had to go through the annoyance and pain of being on your period every month then I don't want to hear you saying that you're a woman. I have no issue with you saying that you are a transwoman.

I completely sympathize with a trans woman's need to play sports and compete. I have plenty of friends that thrive with competitive sports. Having said that... we need to stop lying to ourselves that biological men that transition to women don't have an advantage. In some circles the mere suggestion that men have a physical advantage over women, get's you branded with "sexist" or "transphobe". I'm not sure what the solution is with this... I just know it shouldn't be at the expense of female sports (and spaces for that matter). Bullying people into submission in the name of inclusivity is wrong. I really do appreciate these conversations. I hope that we can figure out a mutually beneficial solution through listening to each other.

I agree with the comment of Prof.Holly Lawford-Smith. Why should women be moved aside and their wishes not be met? Have some respect towards female athletes. You all aspire to be females, yet it seems that their concerns are dismissed. I would hope a transgender person would understand that, yet why do it to others? To answer Jade, I don’t think it's transphobic, or at least it's not the main reason. I think a biological woman would prefer the punch of a biological woman to a transgender woman. That level of pain will most definitely be different and science, something that has no bias has proven it.

IMHO you should not be able to compete against sex female athletes. Genetically you cannot choose to change your sex or the physical development that comes with your genetic sex. I get that TRANS women want to be part of sports competing against women and I don't care. It is patently unfair and no amount of whinging about oppression or persecution will change this.

The problem is there are transgender people who understand their biology and are at terms with themselves that they are originally one sex, and then there are transgender people who say they are objectively the sex they have transitioned into. So by creating a category, you are automatically negatiing any idea that transwomen are women (in this case). I don't know the scientific nor the sociological truth or falsity of that statement.

That's really pleasant discussion to listen to, great job! In my opinion everyone can do sports for fun, but professional sports goal is to reveal who is best, who is fastest and strongest, not to be inclusive and not to be nice. There is plenty of woman who are stronger or faster of some men, but when it comes to being the best in a discipline it will always be men, therefore they can't compete together. If someone decides to transition they need to be okay with plenty of things - that they confuse people, because there are no social norms worked out yet; that they will suffer because of operations they will decide to take in order to change their looks; and that they don't fit anywhere in professional sports world, because they deliberately make themselves too weak for male competition by introducing hormone therapy, and still having too much advantages over women in female competition. In some sense this is main problem with transitioning - they transition to fit somewhere, but really they fit even less than ever. The transitioning has it's cost and it just has to be taken under consideration rather than try to charm the reality.

Personally I think there is a very clear difference between community level sport on the one hand and professional/elite level sport on the other. On the community level sport is primary about staying fit, staying healthy, meeting other people, having fun. Having a community Not about winning at any cost. Transpeople should not be locked out of that. One might also notice that if transpeople can not do sport with 99% of the population that means that on this level they can not do sport. On the professional/elite level the fairness of the competition becomes much more important. You can not just identify away the advantage that male humans have over female ones in many sports. Hormone therapy reduced tha advantage. But it does not make it disapears In particular not in sports that are based on burst strenght. Like weighlifitiing and combat sports. Transmen on the other hand flood their body with testosterone which would be called doping in womens sport for any other reason. Hence I would recommend transpeople to leave professional/elite womens sport alone. And if you absolutely feel that you have to do than at least avoid combat sports. If you believe that a transwoman publically beating up a cis woman and fracturing her skull in the process(See Fallon Fox) is going to help you in your quest to fight transphobia and be accepted, then you are gravely mistaken.

They have a massive advantage and should not compete against women. I've heard countless times a transwoman smashes competition yet somehow accomplished nothing as a man for decades 🤣. Its not just testosterone, men have multiple other advantages. The "train harder line" really pissed me off. That fat dude sucked thats why you beat him, no amount of training would allow the top woman to beat the top man FACT. Give the worlds fastest woman elite training and steroids for 5 years, she still won't beat bolts record. Its like saying a lion just needs to train harder to beat a cheetah in a race 🤦‍♂️. A lioness won't out muscle a male lion, its not a fair fight.
