Even the ones who fought in previous wars were literally screaming and crying about possibly losing their sons. There should 100% be an option to volunteer in place of someone else, as long as you’re physically able. There’s a difference between patriotism and being overly prideful. Anybody who actively wants young men to join the military is the latter.

The girl with the mascara makes a decent point.. "if you don't have people who want to volunteer to fight, maybe your country shouldn't be fighting".. she's not wrong there. I'll give her credit for that line.

If President Putin gets his way and Russian territory grows, and it is, who's to say if he would go after other countries? For this reason we must maintain our military, and all branches. However the USA does have quite a few internal problems, and we may defeat ourselves first. Russia and China are well aware of the weaknesses in the USA and will eventually exploit it to their benefit.

What a lot of people don't understand is that only a small percentage of people in the military are actually combatants. When people think military, they automatically think soldiering in some shape or form. Many support jobs that offer excellent experience, with credentials that will set you up for the future. Hell, there's many people that join enlisted after obtaining a college degree. People join for many different reasons. Not only because of opportunity or patriotism.

I'm not willing to go die for diversity, womanism, or lgtb but these people should because these clearly represent them...

@WoobieLT certainly that's a factor. And it's not unnoticed. Don't know how it would happen but the MIC needs the capitalism taken out of it. No one should profit of wars. Never the less, we haven't gone to war solely for their benefit yet. So we better do something about it. Still not a reason to not join. Maybe a reason to run for certain positions of government.

thats the crazy part, they SHOULD know this, but people dont think about it. These kinds of people are the exact kinds of people who would be nazis in 1940s germany, because they would buy into ALL of the media hype against jews and other races. THey cant think for themselves, and just listen to what their television or smartphone screen tells them is right or wrong. It doesnt matter if those of us with 2 brain cells to clank together can tell the logical conclusion of their actions weeks, months, or years down the line, they wont listen because the screen said so.

I'm so glad the young man in the multicolored bear print bathrobe explained to me the reason "everyone" joins the military. These kids got a big wake-up call coming.

My husband didn't WANT to go ... But go he did. Three times deployed to Iraq between 2005-2010. He used that GI Bill to become a licensed electrician. He does have PTSD. Still says he doesn't regret his *Army service.*

Veterans truly believe after 30,000 dollar handouts that they are above human life and that's why they receive PTSD as a result, they must scare themselves but are too prideful to admit it.

He wouldn't last 2 Days, and would never make it.

As combat wounded veteran with multiple enlistments, ive slept with my fair share of men in tents. We kept our boot blousers on and maintained eye contact at all times.
