Really nice watch...however, with the Certina at the same price range I'd have to pick that up instead. Still nice to see Geckota developing as a micro

So true, having had the certina, its a tough choice! I'm loving Geckotas work, long may it continue.

Good to see you enjoyed this watch as much as I did. A beautiful watch and a great holiday companion. I wore it for two weeks and really thought it was a valid one watch collection. Loved it. Well done 👍

Great video. 1st time finding your channel. Loved the rapid fire comparison with other brands’ offerings before you get into the details. Brings a good level of comparison and Helps put some context to the actual review itself.

That black section under the bezel reminds me of the crown and crown tube on the old version of the Black Bay 36.

It’s a tad outside my comfort zone, but I think it’s well worth the money. It certainly doesn’t fall short of the comparison watches you listed. Thanks for the thorough and entertaining review!

A suggestion about single-pass/NATO straps. if you pass under the first keeper, and over the second, then loop the excess band back UNDER the second keeper, it tucks nicely between the strap lengths, doesn't protrude to snag on stuff by the buckle, and the folded end doesn't stick out nearly as much, either.

Very nice watch Dan. I've been keeping my eye on this brand. This particular one is not unlike one or two I have already, but I can see myself getting a Gekota in the future. It's a bit expensive but seems to be worth the price.

A Steeldive SD1953 with a jubilee bracelet or a oyster bracelet can be bought for around 60 USD during a sale. I think that it looks nicer than the Steeldive SD1970. A tropic strap can be bought for around 5 USD during a sale.

Submariner homages are not really comparable to this skin diver style of watch.

Nice review Dan. I like that watch. Good price point and with no date! Excellent. Love the clean dial. N.B Bought one of your Old Skool straps. Have one already and they’re quality. Great price too. So if anyone’s looking for a great leather strap, try Dan’s shop!

I bought this last month. Same color, same strap. I LOVE it. I have a few Tudors, Omegas, a Doxa, a Sinn, and I find myself wearing the Geckota most often because I'm not afraid of banging it around. The 3-6-9 indices are more apt for a field watch (traditionally) but I think that's what I like about it. It's a field/dive/beater/banger. My only quibble is that I wish the entire case was brushed. No need for high polish on this. And what do you think of the black spacer between the case and bezel? I'm not sure of the purpose of this, other than to cut down on weight, maybe? Regardless, It's well worth the price for me. I just found your channel and will check out more of your videos. Thanks!!

For some reason in the video the hands look a bit small in the void of the dial area. I don't know why that would be...they're plenty long if you look at where they end compared to the indices, and on their own they don't look especially narrow. Odd. I don't think the midcase finishing is up to the price point, as you hinted. But, as you also said, that layer of black between the midcase and the bezel is an interesting feature (it's probably part of the midcase?). The bezel looks great and I don't mind aluminum inserts at all - they don't break. The Miyota 9-series is my favorite tick-above-entry-level movement so that's in the plus column. Would I buy it? No, the dial/hands proportions just seem off. Great job on the video!

Really overpriced China made watches. Why pay this amount of money ? Nothing unique with the brand or the specs of the watch. Better alternatives is our there that brings better value for the money.
