Hi... what happens to oestrogen when progesterone rises?
very helpful :)
My biology teacher always send the students here to watch his videos
I. Loved. This. Video
this helped so much however there's no mention of what causes progesterone level to increase and decrease in the interaction section? any tips
@ena-1717
3 жыл бұрын
An increase of luteinizing hormones triggers the corpus luteum to produce progesterone, however if an egg still hasn’t been fertilised by a sperm, the corpus luteum drops the levels of progesterone, therefore causing menstruation (idk if it’s all correct tho)

Thanks for the video! I'm a bit confused about why Oestrogen inhibits FHS in the first place?
@istoleyourtoast8037
2 жыл бұрын
because if it doesnt, then FSH will further stimulate more eggs cells to be released, so more sperms and egg cells will form more than one zygotes. Thats why when FSH is failed to be inhibited, people have twins and triplets. But usually, the human body is made to produce only one zygote. Hope this helps
what do you mean by high tier do you mean tripple science or just normal gcse science because i have been doing all except high tier by the way your videos are so helpful thank you

Sir! I have a question about progesterone. I do not understand the last part where progesterone inhibits both LH and FSH
@hamzie1010
3 жыл бұрын
Progesterone is basically the hormone that says 'oh hell no, LH and FSH. You ain't gonna be making more eggs any time soon!' In other words, Progesterone stops FSH and LH from affecting the menstrual cycle further until the next cycle comes in.
