Such a lovely memory for you and the honeymooners. I remember my visits to Chenonceau and once I was researching Madame Dupin who is buried in the wood at the end of the grand gallery. Such a special place immortalised by the seven women who developed it. I loved "Mummy's" sentiments about Catherine de Medici. Such a woman who did so much, I don't know how she fitted it all in. Perhaps they will be saying that about you Stephanie, you manage to create so much as well as travelling the world, Lalande is lucky to have you and "Mummy". This was adorable (crashing the honeymoon)especially at the end with Pearcy gifting you and mummy the lovely tokens.

I visited Chenonceau sometime in the 1990's. I purchased a small framed print of a watercolor (if that makes sense) of the chateau for $15 USD. It looked like much more than what it was. also put a card with a color pastel of the chateau into a readymade frame. Hung both in a bathroom.

What a wonderful group of characters. I love the adventure, thank you.

Just watching some old vlogs! So lovely! A vew years ago when I was on holiday with some friends I forces my friends to come with me to chenanceau! A groep of 18 year olds who were not all that interested at first but I came well prepared and at the end I was giving them a tour around the chateau. They enjoyed it very much and we had some other tourist walking with us as well to hear the story! Some how this vlog made me think of that moment. Absolutly amzing how you tell all about this chateau with so much enthousiasm! ❤

Been there.. one of the rare Châteaus Where you actually can see the kitchen. Next stop should be azay le rideau, chevergny and of course Chambord.. but the one in Langaise is nice also.. but chinon is Not really interesting..

Isabelle is just so classy and elegant woman. I just love her

I like you videos.There are joyful, funny and instructif. I think there is a small mistake at 4:10. It is Katherine Briçonnet and not Louise (later they will be 2 important Louise in Chenonceau : Louise de Fontaine and Louise Dupin)

It’s so sweet of him to sneak off to get us gifts! He’s very thoughtful. And stealthy!

Another question . . . just been out to feed all my different sized hedgehogs (about 4 or maybe 6 I think) that wait for me each evening - some very shy and some much bolder! I have special hedgehog hotels that they seem to love boarding in during the day and will, I hope, take up permanent residence in during the winter months. What wildlife do you have within your 60 acres and do you feed or have to control anything there, like deer or boars?

@@vanmeier9805 Oh my word that is the weirdest thing imagineable! I haven't seen a hedgehog for over a year as I had to stop feeding them as the rats were taking over! Not that I have a problem, as such, with rats but there were too many and too close to the house for comfort so sadly I had to stop feeding the hedgehogs. Literally just been out to lock up the shed and a medium sized hedge has appeared!!! Amazing! Have put some cat biscuits out for him in the hope that he will feed but will have to remove soon because of the rats. How strange that you should post now and then that suddenly happened!! Hoping for a return but sadly no photos . . .

My sister had a Valentine's day party, with her fiance, in the middle of the party, a friend stood up, and said, that he wanted to announce that they were getting married....right now, the Minister was there and a surprise wedding was held...the next day Wendy and Charlie, my father, my other sister Diana, her husband Bernie, and myself, went to Mexico for the honeymoon!!!

Oh Percy is just the most perfect man. Romantic and a great dresser! As a question for Sunday may I ask how did you get the chateau to be livable? How does the volunteer system work exactly? And is Gerald a family friend?

Thanks! I’ll add those questions to my list of vlog topics. But in the meantime, I can tell you that Gerald has known my parents since he was 12 years old and has lived with them since he was 17. So I’ve never known life without him and he’s a brother to me!
