    Yeah, every time I have a flame rectification issue and the burner compartment or the combustion box is all rusty. It’s a selling tactic that I use to sell them a new furnace.

    You didn't mention that the end burner"s flame travel slots are crimped or riveted closed and must be put back in the correct end positions.

  • @user-wg1kb8zk1j
    @user-wg1kb8zk1j5 ай бұрын

    Please speak about and photo graph the part of the flame that is burning in the slots (channels )between the burners. I understand that these are meant to carry the flame from burner to burner. How much flame may they support? That flame is not inside the exchanger. Can there be too much flame in those channels? Can the size of flame be controlled? What does a healthy burner look like when viewed from the side where the flame is moving across the channels?

    Great video! One question is it preferred to use a brass wire brush or is steel acceptable

  • @acservicetechchannel

    @acservicetechchannel

    6 ай бұрын

    Brass would be best so it scratches the surface of the galvanized burner heads the least while still cleaning the rust off well. You don't want to remove too much metal, ottherwise the channels become too large.

    how do you properly clean a 80 % furnace natural gas, that ran on propane and sooted up until the roll out trip.I found it like that and made the conversion,i removed inducer and hooked shop vac and flush with nitrogen,any other suggestion.

  • @love2hvac

    @love2hvac

    6 ай бұрын

    That is very difficult. I prefer to replace it but you can pull the furnace separate the burners remove the inducer, and the collection plate to fully expose the heat exchanger. Blow the heat exchanger out and then run some large pipe cleaner type brushes into the heat exchanger. Some models are designed that does not let that happen. Be sure and check for cracks. They typically overheats and crack the bottom section of the heat exchanger. It's labor intensive, makes a mess and has no guarantee.

    Q - at 8:10 you put the inshot burner in upside down, can these go both ways?

  • @whitneyowen8551

    @whitneyowen8551

    6 ай бұрын

    It's important to keep them right side up due to how the gas travels in the crossover tube from burner to burner. Even if it does work at first there's likely to be problems with rollout or proving flame.

  • @love2hvac

    @love2hvac
