Gary was a good kid , who was messed with by a lot of people , including his own parents. Poor guy couldn’t get any respect and was never taken seriously ! Tragic !

His show was my favorite during my childhood. I'll always have respect for the man. We love you Gary Coleman

At conventions, it is expected that one might be charged for photos, at the discretion of the "celebrity". Remember that they are working. They are their own commodity. It would be like going to a restaurant, eating the free bread, and then leaving without ordering anything.

He has the right to charge for his picture at a public appearance if he wants. Its completely reasonable.

Where’d they dig this up from? Very well spoken guy Gary was; (I wasn’t a big fan of the show Diff Strokes but maybe he wasn’t either) I take notes whenever he talks; very upfront and didn’t take the pretentious media crap

Any actor doing these conventions are in some way hard up financially.

The actors that do autograph shows are mainly actors that aren't working much or at all as actors anymore. But shows are great. It gives fans a chance to go meet them and get something signed and photos with them.

We know that....his parents squandered his money and all he ended up getting was a little over 1 million dollars after all the work he put in as a child,and had to sue for that. That money went to lawyers fees and hospital bills.so what was your point?

Nobody put a gun to his head and made him go to that convention. Some people can make money from their past by signing autographs, other people just have to find other ways. Gary Coleman has to pay the bills l8ke the rest of us.

I turned my camera on an sat it down on top of his photos recording away. I told him to be nice. Heck I just took a picture. Everytime I took a picture he would make a mean face. Yeah, you set your crap on his stuff, which was why he was kinda rude to you that makes sense. And if your taking his pictures for free without asking, then of course he wouldnt be happy

I think the main problem is that he is a man and men do not like being treated like children. When a man IS treated like a child anger and discontentment builds, it's only natural.

Lots of people charge for autographs and pictures. I was at a convention where Robert Picardo (holographic doctor from Voyager) was, and he charged different amounts for each.

He was in his rights to tell you nicely not to tape me. Meaning he doesn't have his picture taken for free and any form. It is a law in some states and it should be in every state. Technically what you did was illegal.

City after city, state after state here on KZread, you can see that I can point a camera in your face and you can't do a legal thing about it. This is actually an unwritten rule at conventions. You can't take free photos of any celebrity. I got caught taking a photo of George Romero from far away. I was still told to stop by staff.
