Garrett ace 400 made to work on wet sand with maximum sensitivity

everyone says the Garrett 400 won't work on wet sand.
They re wrong.. watch it work during a live field test.
I got the Garrett 400 to work with maximum sensitivity. Can't get much more salty than the English Channel (live test and adjustment) sandlarking

Thank you for sharing this , fortunate to get the 400i from Santa ! A complete novice so just learning. We have flooding in the fields from recent rain and our area is sodden , thus detector signal bouncing around like a ping pong , now going to try your advice on the settings , thanks again and please keep up the great work sharing your knowledge.

Hi Chris the ace 400 will do wet sand if you notch out the false signals. For Worthing I notch out 10.20.30.40.50 the recovery speed is fast enough to find targets above 50s most rings come in mid 60s to 80s so you won't miss much.

discriminating your detector doesn't stabilize your machine you have to adjust your sensitivity and your search frequency. where I detect I found the F2 frequency with the sensitivity 3 bars down from max stabilizes the machine and I still get depths as far down as a foot.

U are 500 percent right . U might find gold with the settings he has it on but I rather keep it with the settings on and keep on digging the junk because 10k , 14k , 18k , 24 , are all different numbers on the machine so if u have 37 threw 48 u will mostly miss gold even though the 400 is not the best in beach but if u keep on playing with all the settings u can find the sweet spot I am in Virginia Beach for the week and today is day two and I had to really play with it too get it to work just right my 400 is set on F3 and zero-disc and 0 threw 35 shut off and sensitivity all the way up and stable as being at a park and what I do is I turn it on with the coil on the sand and turn it off then I turn it back on with the coil on the sand and I hold the on and off button to reset it and then set it where I want it I no SOME people say it doesn't do nothing by doing that but it works on my machine first day it was going crazy with sensitivity on just 3 bars and after doing that it work good now for scanning on wet sand I turn the sensitivity on 4 bars and I shut the machine off and back on with the coil in the water and it's does good i have the ace 250 and I bought the 9x12 coil and for some reason that machine with that coil worked much better in the salt water or let say on the beach but that's me saying for both machines the 400 is by far a better machine in avoiding junk I haven't tried my 9x12 coil on the 400 yet so I'll see how that plays out but I really live up north mass and I 99 percent of the time I metal detect parks and woods so the 400 is good for me but next year I'll be upgrading too a M.lab or the new A.T 2017 with the led screen and wifi ear phones I must have about 400 dollars in junk change new clad the ace 250 I found lots of silver coins and 12 rings and a 14 k rope chain not bad and much more so yes these metal detectors are good if u learn it

Rodrigo Sachi it is the sea as salty as it gets. The sand had lots of iron in from the ww2 defences. The recovery speed is faster than the false siginals. It is the most rubbish video I have ever made. I have got much better ones since I have learned how to make videos.

Not giving any thumbs, but you REALLY need to do something better than the body/head mount for your camera. It becomes impossible to watch around the 7 minute mark when you start digging. Again for the dig at 11 minutes. And the whole finding the penny happens out of the frame. Also, clean the lens, having 1/3 of the screen be a blurry mess the whole time is annoying. Look at how the more popular channels handle their video, there's not a lot of jumping around like what happens every time you bend over or dig. Even the sidewalk talk at the end has the camera moving around so much it's just impossible to watch (I keep having to scroll the page down so the video isn't visible, it's that hard to watch). As for your lack of finds, you'll find a lot more if you slow your swing speed down and make your sweeps closer together.

Walter White I could not get the at pro to word on the beach... minelab fbs is the way to go for wet sand. I got the 400 to do the stones and dry sand. it works ok on wet sand. you have to rely on the recovery speed being faster than the false signals. it is falsing all the time between 0 to 40s range but the recovery speed is so quick I found it I ran at 50 60 70 80 and 90s it worked ok. it will give you about 12 inches in rock pools. the main thing is it is light.

Ok, 400i is probably my next toy even if the beach is far away from my home (350km). I detect only on pastures and forests (beach during holidays only). The pros about 400i is the pack is complete (disc cover, rain protection and clearsound Garrett device) compared to F44 (totally naked). I'm near the truth, not yet but nearest day after day.
