My guess is whenever they got the wedding's photo album. One would say "aw you look so adorable there with my (MeeMa/Aunt Polly)" then have the same realization but without Elroy and Chang to help work things out

The reason why this is Elroy's most memorable moment for most people is because it's uniquely HIS. There's NO other character who could (or would even think to) say such a line with so much confidence 😂

Also the fact they built up that line with his cutaway discussing his tendency to encourage white people. This was Elroy's episode and I personally think this is one of, if not THE, funniest episode of Community.

After the 50th time watching this scene, I'm noticing how Elroy overextends the 'man' in his infamous line, as if he were thinking up a compliment on the fly. Keith David is brilliant.

i have never been an actor or worked in any sort of set for anything....but i would dare speculate that for scenes that involved that sort of physicality they would probably practice several times beforehand, to make sure nobody gets hurt.

In Jeff’s defense, he didn’t really do anything wrong. If anything it’s better that they know this now and not later down the line
The actress who plays Garrett's mother also played that waitress in 'Sienfeld' who refuses to return his signed photo with a stupid joke when they are on their way to meet bubble boy. It's surreal to make this observation after watching both the shows in a gap of just a few months.
lesson learned, i will never skip the family gatherings and get to know who is who in the family.
I like the actor that plays Todd also plays Shmits antagonist in New Girl. Two totally different characters that he pulls off so well, bravo David Neher. Another great secondary Community player. 😉

There werent too many great moments in the final season but this was definitely one of them. Jeffs slow realization is fucking hilarious.
Keith David's line delivery there was incredible.

simply put, they share the same great-grandparents. In other words, of the four pairs of great-grandparents a person has, Garret shares one pair with his new wife. It's not really that weird. Probably more common than people think.

I know a lot of these comments are talking about Keith David's line, but I just want to draw attention to the way Meemaw faints into that guy's arms. She doesn't even fall, really, more like flops like a dolphin into his arms, and I just know that that guy's chest must've been bruised after that.
