    Hello Carol, I so enjoyed your garden with you, the various plants and shrubs, oh just everything. In particular the strawberry pot filled with the succulents and the crowning glory echenathia. I have an Aloe to move, even though we are in the Southern Hemisphere, during summer if there is any hail the juicy leaves get pelted with hail, which makes the succulent leaves blotchy. I'll give it protection after repotting and then expose to the autumn sunlight. When you declare yourself a "Gardener" there is no rest really, we are adding and removing and storing continuously. I hope many viewers will be inspired by your enthusiasm for the plants and stir something inside them to make a beginning of their own pleasures in dirt and soil. Have enjoyed all the British Seasonal Garden, it was so inspiring to say the least. Till next time 😄

    Watching these English garden shows have motivated me to do even more gardening! However, it's so funny to see the difference in how you perceive the value of plants. I cringe when I see people entranced with Spanish moss and Mistletoe! I live in Florida and I can't tell you how many large trees are destroyed by these two plants. Mistletoe is parasitic and the Spanish Moss chokes out the limbs. The other thing that I find fascinating is the plants grown in England! Some of them I have trouble growing! The climate in England is so amazing! My family is from Bradford, Yorkshire and I love seeing my Mom's homeland! Thanks for all the lovely gardens!

    The British climate is perfect for growing most types of plants, due to it being mild most of the year and also rainfall is frequent; Also i spend a lot of time hiking in the Yorkshire Dales north of where you say your Mom's from, it's a beautiful area of England and there are many beautiful and fascinating alkaline loving plants, that grow in the Limestone rich areas of the Dales and also acid loving plants that grow on peat rich moorland that makes up the Dales.

    They cut away from the second ear of corn because it had scant kernels and lots of gaps. You've got to grow corn in hills, not rows, and close together, because it's wind pollinated. If you've done it right, you'll have kernels completely filling the ear and no gaps.

    'Fall" is the older English way of saying 'Autumn.' Autumn is a new term introduced in the British Isles, while 'fall' is the older term retained in the US. There are many such terms, when the US retained the traditional English and the British moved on to novel terms.

    Carol has over planted herself. Have you noticed how unbelievably root-bound all of her potted plants are? And she still keeps planting. I'm more like Diane where I just keep buying, not necessarily knowing where I'll put them. 😆

    Hi Carol is it true that laurel leaves cant be added to leaf mold or can it??

  • @thewanderingfool4435

    Laurel leaves are fine for leaf mould, however Laurel is an evergreen like Holly and evergreen leaves take about 3yrs on average to become leaf mould, whereas non evergreen leaves only take 8 months to a 1yr. Hope this answers your question.

    Dear wonderful Carol, in the USA what we know as Boston ivy , Parthenocissus tricuspidata, is a pest destroying so much of our native habitats I cringe watching you plant it!

  • @thewanderingfool4435

    @thewanderingfool4435

    2 жыл бұрын

    No need to cringe Nancy, thanks to the climate of Britain, Boston Ivy is not a pest here or invasive, which is why it's a common climbing plant in British gardens.
