Muguruza is one of those players that when they’re in form… it’s really hard to beat, controlled aggression from the get go, has great power, great serve, return, winners from both wings, and can move really well… great player overall!

Her height combined with the 2-hand backhand means she has limited mobility on that side (notice how much she bends her back). That’s her defensive weakness.

The battle of Spain. Hate to see one lose. This was a real battle. Garbiñe once again proved she is capable of winning in high fashion. Paula is a clever player but Garbiñe is more superior. Kudos to both Spaniards!

Badosa is very hard to beat. Muguruza is really playing well right now.

I will always in love with Muguruza, her game style, personality etc. One thing that I don't like from her is her inconsistently. Same with Petra Kvitova.

Yes, both of them are quite inconsistent.

Mugu was peaking and Badosa was overwhelmed by it. It reminds me Mugu - Świątek match in Dubai this year. VAMOS

What a nice hug🥰

Mugu looked confident and aggressive, while Paula looked tired and passive. Badosa was way too defensive and seemed to just hope for errors from her compatriot. Difficult way to win a match on such a fast court. Congrats Garbiñe!

I did want Garbine to win the whole thing, but it broke my heart seeing Paula losing and then seeing her cry. Congrats, Garbine, for winning the championship, and congrats, Paula, for making the final tour AND for making the semi-final.

Overall a very good match by Muguruza, especially in the first set when she had a high first serve, she didn't leave a chance for Badosa to break back. In the second set she was struggling with getting those first serves in, and Badosa did fight better compared to the first set, but still not enough to stop Muguruza. Not many people were expecting Muguruza to make it all they way to the final, especially after being drawn in a group with Pliskova, Kontaveit and having early exits in the last few tournaments... yet she still managed to go 2-1 in the group and is now in the Final. Win or lose in the final, it has been a very big step forward for Garbine this season after a very weak 2019 season. And she is guaranteed to finish in the Top 3 regardless of the outcome. If she maintains this level in 2022, she is gonna surely make another appearance at the year-end finals in China. Garbine's issue has always been on the psychological side, but the last week she has been just so resilient. She has everything to be a consistent Top 3 player.

She has played great in the hard courts this year! Perfect match!

Muguruza won back to back against Kontaveit and Badosa, the two in-form players currently. She found her old self back somewhat !!

I love you both dearly, Garbine and Paula. Congratulations on your win, Garbine. Congrats to you, too, Paula, for making the semi-finals. Please keep your head up. Think and be uplifting to yourself. Keep teaching yourselves to do and be better at tennis. You can do it.

Cuando Muguruza está centrada mentalmente se convierte en una de las mejores raquetas del circuito WTA junto a Barty,es de admirar hasta donde ha llegado Badosa destrozando prácticamente a la número 2 Sabalenka y a una de las mejores tenistas del momento como Sakkari pero cuando Garbiñe está agraciada es muy difícil batirla.Enormes las españolas.

Badosa clearly raised her level but wasn't enough. In the comments after sakkari match I said pliskova, mugi or kontaveit would've eaten her alive. This time she played much better but mugi was on completely different level. Felt sorry for Paula but this time she met someone not just strong hitter but extremely aggressive and with fab accuracy.

Congratulations Muguruza!! Wonderful tennis 👌👌👍🏻

@@roysantiago9131 no it wasnt. i dont know what match you saw but in 15-40, osaka served an 180 kmh ace, and in 30-40 muguruza hit a really good return, but osaka just got it back and she won eventually the point. And she didnt make another unforced error winning the next 3 games in a row. It wasnt muguruzas to lose it, osaka just came back ( and she won the title at the end)

No she shouldn’t have won those, she was just beaten by the better player. Both of those players threw mugu off her rhythm and she couldn’t find her composure again

Well deserved 💖 both having an amazing season, it was no surprise to see them both in the semis.

Muguruza had a one day advantage to recuperate. She was an absolute beast on the court earlier today. Honestly, Badosa looked sluggish yesterday and today. Probably, the altitude got to her and who knows what else was bogging her down(mental/physical).

Nerves hit Paula today, meanwhile Mugu caught her top form. Congrats Mugu.

Wow one of the best matches I’ve seen Muguruza play! She dictated the match from the first point. She’s in top form and I think that trophy will be hers tomorrow. Nice to see her at the top again! 🎾🏆

Mugaruza gas definitely put extra into her workouts. I’ve never seen her looking this good. Translates into her game for sure.

Mugu was brutal today. Nothing else to say. It's almost impossible to beat her playing this level of tennis. Badosa had an impressive season, but not enough to be a WTA Final champion.

Two great ball strikers. Muguruza was "on" throughout the whole match, and kept her steely determination. As for the final ----- my head says Kontaveit, but my heart says Muguruza. Cheers

Sad for Paula but I bet she's exhausted from the season. Over the moon for Garbine! I hope she wins it all.

I'm a fan of Paula, because I think she is more powerful, but today Mugz really played incredible tennis, well done to her. Mugz has improved her serve a lot in the last year or so, and her discretionary shots are finding great angles. Wonderful tennis overall.

When Muguruza is confident and on fire very few can play toe to toe with her.......too much power from both sides and realy fast movement........she was painting the lines today and very few unforced errors.

Would have been happy with either winning. Sad for Paula but she had an incredible year and I’m so excited for her future! I think Garbine needed the win more at this point in their careers bc she’s really been struggling lately. Glad she’s got her confidence back.

Muguruza turned it around after being on the brink of elimination when she lost her first match and then was down a set in the second to Krejcikova. This is two quality wins now against what were the hottest players on tour, Konaveit and now Badosa.

Everyone in the locker room who knows her loves Paula Badosa, and are really happy got her fulfilling her potential in 2021.

It's good for the WTA if a 2x GS Champion and Former World No. 1 wins the tournament...the top players are way too inconsistent.

After two of her matches in round robin here I suddenly felt a struck of intuition (I am Aquarius you know) - that Garbine's gonna win the Finals. now I can see how close I am to my premonition.

Bueno, Garbiñe destruyo a Paula; lo hubiera hecho con cualquier rival a este nivel. Simplemente ella es una tenista extraordinaria cuando consigue aunar agresividad y precision. Saco increible, la quito casi siempre la iniciativa a Paula tambien desde el resto; practicamente jugo un partido perfecto. Annet y Paula eran posiblemente las dos jugadoras mas en forma del circuito en ese momento y Garbiñe demostro ante ellas que a su mejor nivel es dificil que puedan hacer algo mas de lo que hicieron. Es una de las grandes tenistas de su generacion y estoy seguro que aun queda por mostrarnos lo mejor de su carrera.

Great win by Garbine. She has the mental edge over many players. Badosa looked a bit tired I thought, especially in her legs. It's a tough round robin!

In general, when she's on fire and making great points badosa, badosa tends to point to her temple to show mental toughness. She looks at her box as they do the same to encourage her. I'm assuming this time around, she was not happy with herself, and when sitting down , her box was probably doing the same gesture, and then she mocked them as she hit the temple saying "are you joking?" And then proceeded to smack herself as she was headed in a downward spiral not believing in herself and getting herself out of the funk. And before that she sat down, during play, she was tearing up, so a lot of emotions happened there and she was breaking down

Latin-American are American native people whose mother language comes from Latin, that is, people from all American places where Spanish, Portuguese and French are spoken. Garbiñe Muguruza is half Latin-American half Basque-Spanish, because she was born in Venezuela, her mother's homeland and raised in Spain, her father being a Basque native who named all his children with Basque names (by the way, the Basque surname Muguruza comes from the old Basque word "muga"= borderline)

Mugu was a woman in a mission . She wanted this final so bad it was obvious. That’s why she was ready to leave nothing but dust to Badosa. Kudos to her to have brought her A game .
