You've accidentally made a redemptionist gang and now legally have to play necromunda.
There was a time where gw themselves would have put something like this in white dwarf. Love those ‘grave kits, and great bashes!
The dude in the stocks with a pistol in his hand is cracking me up! 😂 I love what you've done with these guys.
Frostgrave Cultists II and Stargrave Scavengers II are even women!
GW charges more than £50 for 20 Brettonian Foot Knights. You can get 32 Agincort Footknights from Warlord for £22. No brainer is no brainer.
Why everyone seem to hate the models so much? Seemingly everywhere on the internet, as soon as novitiates are mentioned, people always remark how they hate the models. I like them personally
The Novitiates make good kitbashing for Sisters of Sigmar in Mordheim.

Best thing about the Frostgrave/Stargrave kits they are at a, "It's cool to experiment" price point. I know that if I muck up one or five cultists I've got more on the sprue. GW kits always make my wallet cry out in pain, so I don't want to hack off bits to try and kit bash.

I remember opening one of Warcry boxes, only to discover that there is an exact number of heads, and that I really couldn't find any replacement that wouldn't look completely out of place even if I wanted. The heads looked cool - but taking even one away meant finding a solution for the entire warband.
Miniatures? On a Discourse Minis video? It's more likely than you think! And very much appreciated, I adore any content that is you hobbying.
I've been letting my friends and the locals at my game store know that's there's other minis out there other than GW
Barely concealed papistry… in Ireland. No, no, not gonna go there…
This is great. These cultists fit that Blanche style perfectly. Please keep the hobby content coming and show off more of your armies.
They look great! It's a sad day though when you need to reintroduce kitbashed minis to 40k players... have they forgotten so quickly their past? 😥

Most of us 40k veterans have retired from GW, the newer ones never realized kitbashing is an option.
Great job! I got the novitiate box and made them into all the Sisters characters - hospitaller, imagifier, Canoness, diologus etc and I use Cawdor gangers and some mantic parts as novitiates - and Empire flagellants as arco flagellants
I used thost Frostgrave Cultists and some left-over Astra Militarum bits to kitbash my cultists of Nurgle. Good choice!

I've used a mix of beastmen ungors, chaos marauders, cadians, catachans, vraks renegades and a few bits of nids, dark elves and the old 3rd ed CSM mutation sprue to make an entire renegade guard mech infantry company.
TBH. I love that the Novitiates look like literal Nuns with Guns. Like when Sister Amatia from the local convent just took up an assault rifle and was bringing the good news of the emperor to the heretics.... Your kitbash is really awesome anyway :)

You win the internet for saying the quiet bit out loud.
Personally, I don't mind the Novitiates kit. But I think it's much smarter to use them as proxies for other Sisters units. Either as the many sundry Sisters foot heroes (Dialogus, Imagifier, etc), or stuck on a larger base with a sufficiently holy looking artifact to make your own Triumph of St Catherine. Either way, you're getting way more points on the tabletop for the same price.
My minitures gaming has strictly been BattleTech since the early '90s, (which come usually with one set of gear/pose), so seeing you fix up the minis by mixing and matching from different kits and then painting them was awesome! The final products looked really good, and the fact that they are unique is the best. Keep up the good work!
"Very, Very awkward to build" They were single piece castings... with a separate backpack... (mostly. The heavy weapons had a seperate gun)
This is what dragged me into competing in GW tourneys... converting models. My Venator Necromunda gang... are Kroot. My Harlequins and Avatar of... Isha... army are... dryads. High elf silver helms... are centaurs. I quit a few editions ago, but I still drag them out to play with friends.

More videos putting stuff together, this was an absolute delight
Excellent kitbashing video. You're genuinely imaginative with your builds and your enthusiasm for it shines through.
im always for kitbashing and customization - i used the flaggelants for my Mordheim gang :)
Wooo, a model-making video - I love this, and I'm excited to see if you make more?
This approach will work great for the Nurgle cultists that I am after (would cost around £300 to buy all 60 GW official models)
Video summary: GW drone discovers other product lines and potentially other games
Ma'am, I regret to inform you about 4th ed WFB Nagash..supreme party clown of the undead
For 10 usd more or less, I got 2 sprues for Stargrave, and was able to build 10 diferent models with them (some friends and I bought a couple boxes and divided the sprues equally). I had a lot of fun building and painting them, though I mostly use them for other games. 100% recommended.
A hobby vid from discourse? Awesome! Those frostgrave/stargrave models are great.
This is your best type of content! Please make more!
This has to be one of your best posts. Really good and you hit most of the bases. Piece to camera, assembly footage, painting footage, name-checking companies and paints, imagery/stills. And you edited it all together so smoothly. I quite like Sisters of Battle, especially when I found the Raging Heroes range.
Discourse Miniatures- "you can go outside sometimes"
You can also mix in the Frostgrave heads and stuff from Oathmark. These kits are amazing. I play Frostgrave and Stargrave with them but they useful for any game!
This is a great way to expand GW kits too. I used the cannon fodder kit from Wargames Atlantic to expand the 10 man cadians into over 30 penal troopers.
still have my metal sisters
I really enjoyed this video, I would love to see more like it!

At 2:00, I very much appreciate that you showed (and pointed an arrow at) the word you were saying. It sure sounded like "flatulence" kit, which immediately grabbed my attention.
this was incredibly inspiring for getting me to kitbash more! Thanks!
For those wanting fantasy humans, Perry Miniatures do a fine range of medievals, Gripping Beast have lots of Dark Age and Middle Eastern medieval stuff and Fireforge do all kinds of historical and fantasy stuff. All of these for around half to a third the price GW charge.
I feel like it's been forever since we got a hobbying video. Definitely want to see more!
Love seeing the creative side of our hobby dialed to 11
just for clarification: Those litte Cherubim are NOT lobotomized Babys, the are more of a sythetik made servitor.
What really amuses me about the Novitiates is that they are the equivalent of Years 11 and 12 from the local comprehensive (Schola Progenia) having been given some guns and told "off you go, the heretic Astartes are over there!"
Building and painting that Novitiates kit was tedious, at best. Great job on the kitbashing!
A man in the stoks welding a pistol, nice touch. 😃👍
The Flatulence. A silent, but deadly unit
Love me a good kitbash!❤ Great stuff! Would love to see you do some more 😁👍
@Discourse Minis This was your best episode yet. Congrats!!
I can hear these kits suddenly going out of stock across the land... Love seeing hobby content from you!
Kit bashing! I wonder how many people remember that this is how GW started. The Rouge Trader rules actually had instructions on how to kit bash a tank! You want jump marines? You had to buy a box of marines, a blister pack of jump packs, and a blister pack of close combat weapons. You could then proceed to make the models you wanted. A lot better than having to buy 3 boxes of marines to get the 15 you want. Ah, the good old days.
I used the Novitiates arms on battle sisters bodies for my kill team, just because I liked the armored sisters better and it turned out amazing. Now I could do the reverse and use battle sisters arms on novitiates bodies if I wanted.
I wanted to comment something fun and witty, but today, I'm exhausted. However, I definitely enjoyed this and would love to see lots more!
Brilliant work, the theming here would be so much fun to play against!
"Drip with malicious zeal from every pore". Good line. But I can't help but feel you missed a perfect opportunity to use the word "Orifice" there.
Your Noviciates army reminds me what Warhammer has lost and what it could be found again ! ! !
I keep hearing "flatulents" rather than "flagellants"
Flagulants (however its spelt) are an amazing kit for kitbashing.
“Kinda weird…….but also kinda Metal”. 😆🤘
Good work!
the old sisters of Sigmar miniature would have made a good base for this. They had some novices miniatures but probably hard to find
Absolutely brilliant kitbash! And I really enjoyed a look behind the hobby curtain.
Great work!
Nice! I miss the days of being able to kitbash. Takes a lot more work these days, more than it used to take my predecessors. That is technology recession existing due to technology progression.
The dude in the stocks, with the pistol. Perfection!
3D Printer go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR except most of the SOB models available to print are _VERY_ NSFW and I'm not allowed to take them to the club anymore.
Love the build videos, keep them comming please 🙏. . .
Fun video. While I do find the notice sisters useful for some things (leave the faces off and they can be cyber-punk Nazgûl) I can imagine making loads of them getting both boring and expensive. I hadn't thought of mixing cultists with Stargrave parts before. I'm going to have to remember that next time I'm making Yellow-sign Militia.
4:31- Are you saying they don’t have any alternative build options?!? I know it happens….. but that’s pretty rare!?! Especially for the last 5 to 6 years!!!

Yeah they’re just lying, they do have build options, 3 per each models pose you can find them by just googling the novitiates instructions, kind of an embarrassing blunder from her.
@ryankyle2467
19 күн бұрын
@@bubbus5183 oh, yeah…. It definitely sounds like it!?! I didn’t know about all the options either…. I wanted to build a Sisters army when I got into the hobby but that newer box set was always sold out around that time! I did eventually get a few of their bigger kits! Just to paint and display! Then I wanted to build a DKOK/Cadian army and OH BOY would that be expensive!!! But I guess I got lucky!?! Because a few stores near me had some HUGE SALES on certain armies and they were definitely on my list!!! So I ended up going with Orks and Necrons!!! And both sets either came with or the sale included SM! So I ended up with 3 armies! And then I just bought a box here and there until now I’m done with the SM army, my Necrons are about 80-85% done (70% if you don’t count what is still in the boxes) and my Orks are about 40-60% done (that one has a bigger gap because until I organize everything I have for them, I really don’t know how much I have)!!! But like I said, I am a fan of the Sister’s!!!
I really liked this one, I like seeing kitbashing ideas
You wonder why they bring organs to play music, my opponents will wonder why my Riptide is bringing a Bullet train to battle...Yes 40k sometimes doesnt make sense. (my Riptide is modeled after the GaoGaiGar mech)
Damnit Discourse stop pushing me to raid Victoria Miniatures for modern sci-fi looking human limbs and heads to make Gue'vessa teams out of the spare Fire Warrior bits I have, I've got enough strain on my time and budget as it is
This is good content. I much prefer good modeling advice like this over rage bait disaster videos.
I believe we're gunna need a Discourse Minis styled battle Report to go with this sister army.
Loved this video - great kitbash - inspired me! Also I am a blood angels plays but if I could do it all over again I would be a sisters player 😊

Getting ready to kitbash my Chaplin on Bike for my First Born Black Templar Crusade ! ! ! You speak wisdom when you say that the Rule of Cool is . . . Well . . . Cool ! ! !
The guy in stocks with a pistol is hilarious.
Nice kitbashing, although I wouldnt use mutant parts in my Sisters of Battle Army..these belong on a pyre. For the Emperor.
That's some great conversions, easy to make, cost efficient and looks great painted. Well done.
The Cawdor Kit from Necromunda could be a good source for Fraternitas; though, or course, not a flexible or reasonably priced as North Star miniatures. The guy with the pistol in the stocks is a really fun look. I like this sort of content. 👍
Great info and great video - have loads of sisters that am yet to build - a mish mash of boxes - more of the same would be great to help build orcs too 🎉
My chaos cultists are build from frostgrave minis. Now I whant build more of them.
Love the non-news video. Also love Frostgrave models. Very cewl.
I love this kit bash! Great work!
Nice! I am always down for a good kit bash!
Such a fun kitbash vid, thanks! ❤❤❤
I'm suprised you not used any House Cawdor bits from Necromunda range
Heh, as others have pointed out - these would be amazing for sooo many games, great job! To add to the long list of games these would fit: A war transformed, Thd doomed
An awesome kitbash idea would be to use the cawdor gang units as a base, they have some awesome models plus them having more warhammer looking guns in their sprue makes things easier
Misters of battle...
Aww, i love the novitiates. One of my fav kits
One of your best videos, Discourse. I own all of these boxes and, while I don't play Sisters, I'm wondering: aren't these ideal for an Inquisitorial team? Ideal for Acolyte, the free fanmade Kill Team Lite based Inquisition adventure rules? PS: I agree the Novitiate models are underwhelming. Strange, given the regular Sisters are one of the best GW kits.
@TheGlennsof

They probably would work well for that I used Scavengers and Cultists for Chaos Mobs. Cultist+ Mercenaries or Soldiers would probably be a better choice for Inquisitor troops I think.
@theandf

@@TheGlennsof for Inquisitorial troops, agreed! But I'm thinking of the ragtag weirdos and mutants that sometimes form the retinue. Sort of like the official GW Inquisitorial Retinue box, only kitbashed. I'm thinking Inq28 :)
Very cool concept of video because it allows you to promote other mini manufacturers and most importantly promote creativity in a gw world of overpriced monopose minis
