Great interview, hope Jungle is back for S2

It was interesting hearing Jungleman bring up wrestling, especially towards the aspect of their not being much interest in the technical aspects of wrestling. Because, as a wrestling fan i do see a lot of parallels between poker and wrestling. Namely the heel/face dynamic that can develop in poker, and how, much like there is with many hobbies/professions there is a subsect of the fandom that is EXTREMELY into the technical aspects of it. I think the best wrestlers and poker players are able to almost simultaneously be extremely broad but also have aspects of their personality or playstyle/movesets(in the realm of wrestling) that caters towards the people who do love that technical aspect. The ability to play both sides of the coin as it were. In wrestling, wrestlers who are obvious fans of past wrestlers who adapt their moves into their own moveset, or model their whole personality or character in ring to be an homage to past figures. I think this is where commentary comes into play, and i think in poker that lacks in a lot of ways. There isnt exactly a deluge of people who are adept enough at commentary to enterainingly dig into the plays being made at the table, while helping people who maybe only have a surface level understanding get why those plays are big deals. Where as in wrestling the commentary can point out those aspects(references to past matches, moves used by past wrestlers and things like outright costume homages etc) and make note of them to the people watching on TV.

I'd like to see some more variety in the "challenges" in GOG. Thinking of "Top Chef" where they do a big variety of chef skills for advantages in the elimination challenges, lots of options as it applies to poker, predicting GTO plays, speed math challenges as it relates to hands, guessing people's hands live or with a slight delay for points. I've really enjoyed the show but feel like the "Indian Poker" was a high light due to the change of pace.

I am loving to see a Terence just caught up with this. At the beginning he looked quite skeptical about whole idea of this as someone who is not into these kind of shows. Honestly I was one of them 😂 now he is way more excited than Daniel 😂😂😂 and me too 😅

I too looked at who was interviewed and noticed Fedor was the only one of the final 6 that was not interviewed. And Daniel mentioned he wanted to interview one of the contestants now that he is in the Bahamas. A little anticlimactic but since you already mentioned it, yes I agree.

Sest color arrangement was a clue also.

How//where can we watch this episode?

31:38 people forget the Jungleman is an S rank end boss of poker. In terms of raw skill he is a huge favorite to win the whole thing, and has been a favorite since round one. I think a lot of people do underestimate him because of he goofy he is, but I would not want to play at his table lol same goes for Fedor, Maria, Josh, and Jason.

Card counting is not memorizing cards. Remembering what cards have gone would be similar to BJ card sequencing or bridge skills.

You create a twist by giving them the impression that they're playing a team but instead it's playing each other, but then you have them play a game that nobody has experience playing, so playing against a very strong opponent or a "weaker" opponent doesn't create a disadvantage. Instantly kills the purpose of the "twist".

It is not because your opponent as no experience that he can’t outsmart you Also if you ever come across the river toy game in a GTO book you will see that it looks very close to this game and that intuitively Jungle and Charlie have used this exact strategy (bigger bet against A and 2-3 and decreasing the sizing with more middling cards)

They have to do a satellite tournament to see what players are in next season. More content, fair, and an added element. If they just choose players for season 2 they will miss the mark.

They maybe should have made Indian poker a pot limit game or maybe even better, limit.

I commented this on latest episode, can you imagine Dnegs walks up to the final table and everyone’s jaws drop lol “For next season they should have a redemption round for all the eliminated players. Winner gets to be the wild card add on at the final table. Would be a great twist and the remaining players would be stunned to see someone walk back in”

Jungle & Daniel doesn’t realize this: Going 1st the 1st round means you are the only one who has the chance of accumulating >90+ coins because you will have the chance to sweep and maybe participate in the 2nd round - - And your teammates never have that mega-scooping-possibility.

How are they the only one with a chance of 90+ coins? You could literally go last in both rounds and sweep both, if your partners each go 0-2. Going 1st gives you the best shot, of course, but it's not the only way.

When I saw that Charlies previous occupation was literally listed as "Drug Dealer" I was like yup, yup. He has massive dbag millenial vibes a product literally born from social media, he will say things that are completely selfish or just flat out insane but says it in a way that is designed by social media, you don't want to be cancelled. Say it the sweetest softest coachable landing possible and it'll probably get through with Kyna types etc, we see that it does NOT work with David William types lol. If he can't see how he can be off putting than he's crazier than he looks. I will say I don't really know anything about him and he could be the coolest most genuine person but that's just the vibe I get and why I could see people perceive him as a villain.
