My big bro taught me the majority of what I know about riding bikes. The technical lift arena is one that I'm still working and this was a pretty damn cool opportunity to work on it while having some fun! National Trail in Phoenix is next level in regards to technical features both up and down. It's where I "cut my teeth" early in my racing career and it's a place that always provides an incredible challenge.
This particular spot is called "The Gatekeeper." It's aptly named since it's the entrance to National is sets the expectation for what's to come in regards to technical proficiency. Basically, If you can't get up one of the nine lines here, you're probably going to struggle the rest of the way up. That's right, NINE lines! Rob alluded to having 10, but that one proved to be elusive on this day.
Rob was on his @aribikes Delano Peak and I was on his La Sal. I think it's great to showcase how capable trail and enduro bikes can be when it comes to climbing capability.

Hey Rich, I commented on your old video, but as it was old I know you didn't see it. I just wanted to ask a question about your old YT Izzo. I saw that you upgraded the fork to a 150mm fox 36 and I was wondering how it's held up if you've ridden it at all? I plan to replace the air shaft of the stock 34 to accomplish the same thing (I think I can do this), but yeah. Would like to know if you still recommend the idea. Also, great video. I love the national climb but I can barely clear any of it so it's always nice to watch the pros show me how its done.
