I think that was the same trail. Very good call not to try that descent down to the road in that weather, and to be fair, they don't have the skill yet.

"Send it to the coffee shop" lol you made her into a real mountain biker. But for real though, Manon looked like she actually enjoyed it while Conor had that "what the hell are these people on?" kind of look I'd expect from a true road biker.

A 29 inch xc bike look enormous next to me but when conor is on it, its look like he is on 26 inch

Kudos to the roadies for giving it a go in such horrendous conditions. The experienced MTBers always make it look easy but we know that's not the case. Showing such enjoyment and terror at the same time makes this such a fun video to watch. And I've never seen a telegraph pole ride a mountain bike before, but Conor shows it is possible.

Hopefully part 2 is during a dry sunny day so the roadies can have more fun. Riding wet trails in the rain isn't fun nor inspires confident riding.

@@tahirsaid6993 You're right, according to Wikipedia he's 204cm. I think he's using Doddy's size XL bike, but with the seat raised. Canyon website says XL size for the Lux is for ">192cm", each size is good for ~10cm size range, so he's still 2cm too tall for the frame.

„Speed is scary“ says the Dragon Queen who rides around on hard wood planks with 70kph. That was really fun to watch. Next time, I’d suggest a bit more GCN peer pressure and bring in Ollie and Dan. Also I‘d suggest a race GCN vs. GMBN on neutral ground aka. cyclocross.

And THAT is why we love MTB, the laughs reverberating round the forests in the worst of weathers!

Can we officially make a new mtb rule? No spandex allowed on a mountain bike!. Lol looks like you guys had a blast

Give them a nice trail bike and nice dry trail and they will have the best fun of their lives 😎

Manon will be an MTB convert yet. Seemed like it resonated with her. Bold prediction; she will be a regular on GMBN in 2022. 🤙

LOL. I noticed that. Would have been better on flats for sure. But then again they're roadies, so prob ride quite stiff. They may have just bounced off the flats and that would have gone badly...

Hearing Manon just laugh is really enough for me to fall for her.

Manon always has a glow when she's on a bike. Glad to see it there even in the mud.

Alot of laughing sounds like every one had lots of fun love it.

Full beans on the ascent seems to be easier for Manon as she's a sprinter. Wouldn't mind to see more of these!

Two newbies and you take them to the FOD on a wet day!?!? Bonkers. Although kudos to them both for getting stuck in, they'd both progress very quickly at somewhere that isn't a maze of slippery roots and slop!

Good fun, would love to see them tackle a straightforward trail with trail bikes, they will love it!

I've been commuting and Strava chasing on the roads for a very long time, but just got into mtb at the ripe age of 42 and the terror is real! I gained a whole new respect for mountain bike riders! I'm about a dozen rides into my first year and I feel like I get better with each ride, but I have a very VERY long way to go!

I think this shows the benefits of a teacher who understands that you have to support someone who is nervous/out of their depth, rather than telling them to 'just get on with it'.

Can we please have more of these challenges, and also more budget MTB challenges as well - those were brilliant! . I love the fact you put these beginners on £5k XC bikes, no carbon was harmed in making these videos lol

Loving the stoke and laughs 😂. Reminds one how difficult it is for total beginners to let the Bike go, and let it work for Them.

WOW! One of the best episodes ever. I dont think I have ever seen Manon and Conor have so much fun even in this dismal weather. I do think they have discovered why riders love mtn biking so much! And even a Postman Pat reference as a bonus!!!

More content like this pls. One of the most fun crossovers ever I'd say.

Rich “ these trails are designed to be ridden without the need to pedal”. Manon “pedaling is the only bit we’re good at, we’re not good at anything else”. Rich thoughtfully “oh yeah”. Such a blast, Manon’s laugh, Conor’s “skills” and rich the perfect teacher.

"Most of the people in pro peloton don't know how to ride bikes" - so I understand now better what that means, thank you GCN :)

Mathieu van der Pol and Peter Sagan definitely know how. VDP is of course nearly as good at XC as he is on the road, and Sagan is known to ride a lot of bike park on his MTB during off time.

@@mrvwbug4423 yes, of course there are riders with great skills as well. Sagan was equally good on road as in XC races as a kid and junior, but was pushed to decide for one only to pursue later one.

"Manon does MTB" should be a series where she learns how to get better and then convince her to become a GMBN presenter, she's awesome!

Always loved when GCN joins GMBN, but this is one of my faves. Manon is awesome as always but to see and hear her on a MTB is epic. Conner is a hoot too. Please have these two with Blake and Rich doing more MTB stuff preferably in dryer weather. Manon and Conner are perfect pair on this one. Especially love Manon's attitude here! So fun, and makes me wish I was there. 😃

That Canyon looks tiny when connor rides it😁

Hank did Ojos del Salado on a MTB, he definitely knows his way around a MTB.

Manon sendig climbs was the best 😂 She was really qucik in those first sections I think becasue she was racing cx as teen

@@LukaszMielczarek Jumping and Downhill are completely different to XC skill set. Hank only tried trail riding and basic skills.

So much skill is been learnt here. When is all slipery and the bike is dancing beneth you on the rocks and roots, while you struggling with the balance and keep pedaling to have the momentum going. Thats some nice training right there. Have a good one.

I reckon Manon would be great at XC with a little more technical training. Maybe a discipline she should attempt to have a go at in the future.

Enduro definitely favors sprinters, XC favors a more all around skilset.

This was such a great video. It reminded me that's it's ok to not take mountain biking so seriously because at the end of the day it's all about having fun. And it's always fun to watch people try something new and enjoy it, especially if they have to overcome fears or hesitation in the process.

Thanks for the laughs. Especially liked Mannon's reaction to Conner's mis-fortune. Broke my collarbone sending it downhill some weeks back so this was good therapy.

That was so good to watch! Manon is so natural at it, and it was so good to see Conor becoming more comfortable on the trails

I'm super glad you took out Conor to the woods with a mountainbike and seriously taught at least the very basics. I've suffered every time I saw him doing anything off the road on GCN and was even suggesting in the comment section that GMBN should take him out. I highly hope he'll get out on a MTB out sometimes and practice a bit as he now knows the basics.

I never thought that I would see a mountain bike cry for help. Those screeching sounds of the break were like the bikes howling in agony. Nonetheless, a fantastic episode and Manon is infectious whereas Conner reminded me of what I was like when I rode my MTB for the first time.

Most laughter I’ve had in a while, sounds like GCN we’re having a time as well! Just a great video. Hope they keep it up and eventually get some air!

More or this please : we roadies from all over the word moving into MTB need this kind of videos that show us what to do on MTB and that it is normal even if you are a former pro. ❤️

Connor definetly got better, you can see him getting confidence! Manon certainly showed her savage side!

I have to say this is one of my favourite videos ever the roadies were hilarious please bring the ‘Big Man’ and ‘Manon’ back I love her attitude just ‘send it’ for everything haha 👍🏻

Manon reminded me the early day when I tried MTB the first time with a pure RB background, it was so much fun, it's just a very different type of fun than RB, and gosh, her laugh makes everyone happy! We want more of her in MTB please!

These crossover episodes are some of my favorite videos on all of KZread! Its awesome to see how some skills cross over and others clearly not so much.

Loved this video so much. Full of joy and laughter. Manon just kept going “let’s send it” and kept laughing which was such a joy to watch them all.

That trail looked like a blast to ride. This episode was great to watch it reminded me of teaching my road biking friends how to ride XC. This made me feel so much better after my first trip to FOD last week, I struggled so much on the red trails in the wet and mud.

Ahhh Manon. So cute!

I strained my hip flexor and it's 80 F in the middle of February 😭 Watching videos of others having fun is all I got.

I love the positive vibes from Manon and Rich and then Conor is sort of the more silent type enjoying himself. Anyway for a next video: pump track/bike park!!

This was great! I enjoyed watching as much as Manon seemed to enjoy making the video. I started mountain biking for the first time last year and coming from years of road riding it's like drinking from the fire hose. There is no time to relax.

I haven't laughed at a video that hard for awhile! The great attitudes and humor in the rough was great. I'm a beginner at biking myself so wouldn't do much better, lol. Great fun.
