I had an AP US history teacher, blandest most non-accent American accent you’ve ever heard, then she’d start talking about history involving the South and she’d start talking about southern cuisine or southern culture with a twang because she was raised in rural Virginia. Was like the twilight zone.

I learned in psychology familiarity make accents thicker. I also noticed I talked more country while around my parents and family and it disappeared around strangers or just unfamiliar ppl. I mean obviously it doesn’t disappear but it’s thickness lessens it’s noticeable but not as thick as it actually is. I even noticed while talking to friends I’ll use certain slang that I only use around family while talking ABOUT my family. It’s cool but oddly makes sense.

@@Roughscrubbles Yeah, that makes sense; my brother told me that one of his friends he met when he was an undergrad was born in the US, but spent most of his childhood in India before his family moved back to the US; so he supposedly has a mild to moderate Indian accent, but when his friend once answered a phone call from his parents when he, my brother; and maybe some of their other friends were hanging out; he started talk to his parents in the thickest, most stereotypical Indian accent you could imagine, and they were speaking to each other in English too; not Hindi, not Gujarati, not Telugu, not Tamil, but heavy accented Indian English.

had a guy a few years ago walk into the store i was working at on halloween. literally everyone before him was in costume and they all wanted us to ask what/who they were dressed as. so, having gotten into this rhythm of the guessing game, "oh, wow, you're so cool, everyone will love your costume," bag items, i get to him. he's in a red shirt and khakis. Just to let anyone who's curious know, we do clean the grill that is used to make the hotdogs at 7Eleven. And they are rarely there for more than 4 hours. The entire staff is taught how to clean the grill, but the more ghetto your 7eleven is, the less likely they clean it.

@@linkLoverAG people in general are way too harsh on subway. Can't blame them though. My store consistently doubles sales of every other one in the area, and people tell us they go out of their way to avoid certain stores to go to mine, so it's believable that other stores are not as good, and the slower it is, the longer product sits out.

The video sucked to begin with, so don't pretend like the fake ad was what killed it. It wouldn't have been enjoyable anyways... Also, for those who aren't obsessed with Wendy's and don't eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, how the hell would anyone know that the burger wasn't still on sale? If you put a fake ad in a video, then make sure you make that very clear to the audience, because claiming to be sponsored by someone when you actually aren't can get you in trouble. Plus, people don't like watching videos filled with random ads with no explanation, we get enough of that shit with TV, I'd rather not have to look at them while I watch a video... If there's anything that the GameGrumps fans are justified in complaining about, it was this. That and the part about the episode being really shitty, there was absolutely no humor, just complaining. So, it wasn't so much that the ad was there, it was because it was there with no explanation about it being there, so it's not at all the same... Though even if they got sponsored, fans wouldn't want to watch a video with a big "Wendy's" logo on the corner of the screen, if you like ads so much there are videos of them.

11:56 - That ad where the kid was playing with his Dad's gun and shot his friend actually terrified me when I was little. I had "rabbit ears" on the television in my room, and woke up in the middle of the night to that commercial playing. It literally scared me so badly that I had my parents take the antenna off my TV, because I didn't want to risk seeing that commercial again.

i hate that tons commercials completely lose the fucking plot on their mascots. Geico acts like the gecko has always been there. NO HE HASN'T THAT WAS THE WHOLE ORIGINAL JOKE. people kept calling the gecko because his name is similar to Geico, IF HE WORKED THERE IT WOULDNT HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM. i'm not really that mad, just pretend i'm Lewis Black or something.

I THOUGHT it sounded oddly familiar when Dan was describing it!

After a little research, the “I’m Batman” commercial Dan talked about at 7:00 was a 1996 Snickers commercial.

54:43 this is by far my favourite part, because the background music is timed perfectly to reinforce the hilariously sinister tone of the line. It makes me laugh every time.

I’ve never watched a Game Grumps vid before this one and I must say: The first 10 minutes (as well as the rest to a degree) ARE COMEDY GOLD

Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That Sal's Pizza thing hit me with a wave of nostalgia. I went to that pizza place all the time as a kid. Even knew the chief, Dan. Dude was cool and the pizzas were the bomb. Since he left, the pizza's haven't been the same. I had no idea Arin went there too, I wonder if we might have met (or where just at Sal's) at the same time.

32:40 funny story about my family. When my great-grandmother was getting her pacemaker put in they had her on some weird kind of drug that made her loopy but didn't completely knock her out. She was apparently cracking jokes left and right. My grandmother told me she could hear the doctor on the other side of the hospital laughing. Afterwards he told her that she would make comments throughout the procedure proclaiming. "You better make sure you put that bunny with the drum in me so my pacemaker doesn't stop working."

Those PSA commercials were brutal, especially the driving ones. The way they conveyed the message was pretty dang effective! So much so that I actually had a fear of driving. Still got some lingering anxiety about it, too! Fun!

That Prilosec bit is one of the funniest god damn thing grumps has ever done. along with Obama, i think Kirby's dream course just brings out the best improv in them.

I looked up the "can you believe we get paid for doing this" ad Arin was talking about, its even worse than he described, its game testing, not design. Which, from what I've heard, isn't close to as fun of a job as you think it is, though who knows, maybe that one single school made it a blast.

Nah its really not. You dont have time to enjoy the story because they give you one section to stick to and you have to investigate every inch of the world space and dialogue and what not to look for any bugs that werent seen during production. It is insanely boring. At least until you get that golden moment where you find the greatest game breaking bug ever and it hurts because you know you cant show your friends due to NDA
