Ойындар

Game Dev Tycoon is a fantastic game dev tycoon game (I know it is the name of its own genre) where you get to manage and expand your own game dev company! Now there is a correct way to play a software company simulation and release your very own games and compete against other companies. We however have the advantage of the infinite money glitch to give us a bit of a big advantage. So today The Spiffing Brit will be discovering if GAME DEV TYCOON is a perfectly balanced game or if the contract only challenge which causes an infinite money glitch is overpowered. I just tried it, it actually is infinite, but takes some time. You can click the accept payment notification as many times as you want as long as you click on an employee first to pause and make sure your cursor is a little bit below the stack of money right corner and barely above the very bottom of the screen, just to the right of the menu button on the bottom left corner. May not even need an auto clicker but it makes it easier.

The first exploit I found was on a mobile game. You could watch ads for in-game money but the ad took a few seconds to pop up. If you had a mobile auto clicker you could spam the button before the ad popped up. You would then get rewarded for each time you pressed the button and you would only have to watch one ad.

@@declanziolkowski I think the point moreso was, in a Dystopia, being someone who is a thinker and having original ideas is usually considered "bad" by the people who lead that dystopia. Being educated and being able to ask questions means that you could potentially figure out reasons why the dystopian rule is flawed, and try to create reform and change. So by having an "original idea," you are going against the dystopian rule.

Just like /r/aninterestingtitle would have been a cool name for a subreddit about weird titles, like "Certified philosopher of the whole known universe", a title Spiff used in the "Turn 1 Monopoly" video IIRC. And just about EVERYTHING beats dystopian games with "Eden" or "Paradise" in their names. If one of those pop up, you immediately know that it's (1) a failed project that's closer to hell than paradise, (2) that the game itself is some mass-produced knock-off of a more original competitor, and (3) usually full of bugs.

Speaking of exploits I remember statpadding in Battlefield 2. It was wrong, but the progress tree was so ridiculously long I didn't feel too bad. 1000+ hours and still not all the guns unlocked. So we'd sit at the corner of the map, 1 person killing, 1 reviving, 1 getting ammo while dying. And people would see these huge point amounts and eventually caught on, and a couple sheriff's would use the helicopter and try and find people at the corner of the map. That was a ton of fun getting away with some shit without abusing other players, directly anyways. Some people felt offended that their grinds were less meaningful but fuck it, there's half a dozen more battlefields and they won't stop coming. Awesome video as always

Old solitaire had a hilarious exploit of ctrl z spam = 100% win rate. Basically for whatever reason it didn't count a game going from the last possible move all the way back to the start as a "loss" if you just spammed the undo button. No clue if the new fancy one with the leveling has any exploits, I haven't messed around with it too much.

Oh, for those beyond taco land the debate over quesadillas having cheese or not is just as toxic as the sub/dub debate. That being said the word supposedly comes from one of the native languages in Mexico and means "folded", the main difference between a quesadilla and a taco is whether you fold or roll up the tortilla.

I remember the first exploit I ever came across was when I was beating GTA:SA for the first time. After you leave the gun range, the game will substitute your current weapons and ammo to a fixed amount. However, if you leave the gun range, return and leave again those values will be doubled for some reason. You can do this any number of times, and I did it until the weapon hud stopped showing the ammo, which for my childlike brain meant that I had infinite ammo. I never had to buy ammo on that playthrough ever.

To anyone who doesn't know it: the original gamedev tycoon featured copy protection (or DRM? idk) which enabled piracy mode if it found that your copy wasn't genuine, and drowned the player in piracy events. IIRC, piracy events were in the game all the time, but they only took a percentage off the sales, not just about everything, unless triggered by the CP.

  • @Maniacman2030

The problem is, it's an overdramatization of fearmongering over piracy. Devs lose nothing over pirating games. In most cases, people test the game ahead of time to see if it's worth the money. AAA Devs put AP measures on their games so people are FORCED to buy whatever they put out, bugs and all, with only "game journos" they pay to shill their game as "quality assessment". Which is part of why LPs are so popular. In a lot of cases now, most of us will avoid a game like the plague if a Dev drowns it in AP protections, because they're hoping their buggy game will sell on Brand Recognition alone.

And he forgot to mention A LOT of them rather than sticking to the same Routine (Alchemy-Exploit) and do not seperate the Resto-Bug for Equip from it. And thus it is even for different Games - Heap/Stack-Fucking, forcing Null/Overflow-Errors which are not programmed to cause Errors - that is the same Stuff since 40 Years, whether it is the PacMan-Pachinko for unlimited Continues, Jagged Alliance for Itemduping or Stellaris/Civ6-Recourceexploits.
