Metroid Fusion is my favorite Metroid game of all time because of the heavy focus on atmosphere and story It's very effective in my opinion Bought this for Wii U Virtual Console and I couldn't keep my hands off of it

18 years later, this game brings me back memories along with my game boy advance in my head....

Ironic that Samus- the destroyer of Metroids- was saved by Metroid DNA.

I remember playing this game a lot, lost it years ago though... I really should get this game again. Is my favorite game for the GBA.

It' s cool how the bosses represent the power you get back from them.

That was One awesome Game Great memories It still is a good game and really long, that was great too

for the B.O.X. robot fight, it helps to stand UNDER the incendiary grenade so the flame pillars will both miss you

It absolutely should and will in like 6-7 years, looking at what Nintendo has been doing with Metroid lately. I suspect we will be seeing a remake of Super before we see Fusion, which makes me fucking giddy.

My best 100 percent speedrun was 2 hours 14 minutes!

Best part of the series, imho. Sure, it's quite linear when compared to the more openly structured Super Metroid. In terms of atmosphere, however, it blows the whole rest of the series out of space. It bears a strong survival horror vibe at times and I would name it among the creepiest sci-fi-themed games ever made (which is hell of a compliment for a 2D game). Damn, it almost makes Dead Space look like a kid's game.

That was a really tough first boss for me, must've taken me at least 5 days to finally beat that boss.

One of my favorite games.

Never realized how deep this story line is great game

Okay wait, so Samus's body fuzed with the suit? Or is that what SHE looks like now after the mutation?

In the SRA stage, look at the top of the malfunctioning stabilizer units when they're infected and you can see a Nintendo Gamecube shape in them.

Samus Returns brought me here. There's a version of Hard mode that lets you play with the Fusion suit.

You know it's strange the boss icons are supposed to appear as faces but shape wise it appears as a creature with arms and legs as well as (what appears to be) a small spike emerging out of each of its shoulders. I know that's not exactly what it's supposed to be but it's interesting to look at something like that from another angle.

I miss that infant.

I use to have this game as a child the BEST I EVER PLAYED.

It's kind of ironic that at the beginning, it says Metroid 4, yet in the timeline, it's the last game, placing it as the eighth game in the timeline. I know, it was the fourth game released, so it makes sense, but the timeline is different.

In a similar sense, Zelda II on NES is the last game in one portion of Nintendo's timeline.

Now that I look at the X parasite, it looks a lot like that gooey stuff from Super Metroid. The stuff you could freeze and use as a platform.

Honestly when Metroid Fusion came out, I thought it wasn't going to be as good as Super Metroid because I thought they were not going to be able to top that game. The Gameplay was flawless. In doing so they did a great job. The only thing is that the game is actually more Linear than the last. In the past, you were given a blank map and had to figure out where to go and what to do. This one guides you along the way.

I played both. Fusion is more horror driven, while Zero is more adventure driven. Both are a joy to play. I hope that helped. 🫡

Unfortunately not. Though I think it might still be available on the E-shop through the Wii U. I downloaded a digital copy on my console like 4 years ago and I remember it running really well in the gamepad!

Wait a sec, Samus had to be cut out of her suit? Damn, I don't want to know what she looks like under that suit now, if she can even survive without it.

@BIGWILL493 Original Metroid possibly but not Super Metroid... Super Metroid is still good despite it's age.

It's actually quite easy, download the Visual Gameboy Advance Emulator, and then just find the Metroid Fusion ROM. - You're good to go.

bitchasshoeism More items, more customization, more differing areas, less bland, no Screw Attack which makes enemies just backdrops, better story, far better music, more detail in the game world, more different ways of playing the game (multiple characters and weapons). Often somewhat bigger game world.

bitchasshoeism That's Space Jump, not Screw Attack. And you can transform into a bat in most Castlevanias. You also have super jump. I don't think it would be necessary for Metroid either. It's good enough as it is.

bitchasshoeism The caves are really well done in Metroid and much harder to create than the castles with their flat floors, so Metroid gets points for that. The caves feel really natural (at least in Super Metroid). Aria of Sorrow has perfect difficulty. Both Super Metroid and Symphony of the Night are far too easy.

IF you're lucky, gamestop has it for 12$ new. 11 pre owned. It's so crazy my GBA SP Still works after all these years and I still have this and Zero Mission. Crazy this came out in 02, when I was in 2nd grade lol

In terms of Chronological story, yes. But the last Metroid game in general, no. That will be Samus Returns for now until Prime 4.
