Forgot one funny detail: speedrunners stay in morphball form while waiting for Kraid's spawning animation, as it normally lags the game a little bit but being in Morphball speeds it up thanks to rendering less stuff, making the spawning finish faster.

@@TheMissingLink2 Heh, i guess his constant ressurections and his difficulty are his most important advantages. He just keeps coming back from the grave to try and kill Samus, even though he fails every time. He's one of the most persistent bosses of videogame history if you ask me.

2 years later and that build up to the incredible Ridley fight is still one of the coolest most hype things this channel has done

I love how this portrays the sequence breaking correctly. Super Metroid will always be one of my Davy games of all time.

I like how Mario speedruns by being some glitched demon, but Samus does it through pure skill.

Thinking about it some more, and no spoilers, but I'm dead certain "CHICKEN STRIPS!!!" is "canon" (hehehe) now. If you've beaten Dread you'll know what I mean. It's even funnier considering the enemy in question.

Just found out 5 minutes ago that the reason Samus flails her gun arm up and down while running is because it is a reference to "arm pumping," which is an actual speedrun technique which makes Samus run faster.

After having my interest sparked in Super Metroid speedrunning through this video, I come back a couple years later to see even more insane details in this video. The moonfalls, arm pumps, Kraid quick kill, moving forward while shooting missiles into Phantoon (The Doppler), collecting early Super Missiles in Green Brinstar by mockballing and early Power Bombs in Red Brinstar, using spikes to get i-frames in Lower Norfair, shinesparking in the climb room during escape and so on. Absolutely phenomenal!

Super Metroid is my all-time favourite game. I've been playing it since I was 5 any have beaten it hundreds of time. And this is one of my favourite videos on KZread. I keep coming back to rewatch because it's just so incredibly well done. The fact you stuck so close to the actual run, incorporating all the tech. The fact you made Samus look like the total badass she is in canon. And the fact that you managed to combine this with great humor, references, AND an awesome fight scene, jam-packed into one animation, is just wonderful. Genuinely, thank you so much for bringing more attention to this amazing game. Just when I thought Super Metroid might be forgotten, you came along and made _by far_ the most popular SM (or even Metroid) video the Internet has ever seen. Through this animation, a whole new generation of players has, and will continue to be, introduced to this wonderful game/series.

I also like the implication at 5:53 from Samus' confusion over not being able to leave the room. She's been doing everything up till now because she really DOES know the map like the back of her hand, and she IS that good. Not because the player has put her through this multiple times to master the game.

The ratchet and clank 3 loading screen ship sound effects and planet arrival are so subtle and made me so happy once I noticed them. Mad respect, that game is amazing

I grew up playing this game and have at least 20 play throughs. This is the best satire representations I've ever seen of a beloved game. Well done! Also the choice at the end, I love how there was additional story afterward.

techincally, the baby metroid is the galaxy's last hope as the x parasites will kill everything unless the metroids keep it in balance, and since metroids have one weakness against the x's none (well, except metroids), it's much easier to root for the metroids for the federation, but NOPE, they kill them all!

I love how speedrunner Mario had to be possessed to get his speed, but Samus over here’s apparently just raw skill. Hope to see her use that in season 4’s crossover episodes.

I’ve never seen a Terminal Montage video and I subbed within 60 seconds. I can’t continue watching more than a minute because it’s almost 4 am and I’m trying not to wake my wife up from laughing my ass off.

After the whole speed demon arc(for now), the revelation that Samus' speedrunning potential was purely because of maternal rage is hilarious

Funny thing is I got into Metroid and started playing Super Metroid just a week before this video came out; to this day it's my favorite TerminalMontage video (Besides World of Light)

Most "Something About" bosses: Survive less than 5 seconds. Ridley: Survives 23 seconds against Speedrunner Samus I mean, it makes sense, because he's the Cunning God of Death. And no, BoTW Ganon doesn't count because he uses multiple forms, which count as different characters.

The Samus V Ridley fight is the best one in the something seiries, as it lasts for more than ten seconds and has each side get the advantage.

Love this so much!!! I also like the fact that ridley was the only boss that didn't take her like 3 seconds to kill him. Need a fusion and dread from you guys!!!
