Those of you who mention that it doesn't matter if you damage the screen while removing it, since you'd only remove it if it was broken already: NOT TRUE. On the S7, you need to remove the screen in order to replace the charge/USB flex assembly, since the home & back buttons wrap around through the center frame and under the screen. Only way to get that assembly out is to remove the screen too, which might be fine so you do NOT want to be damaging the screen.

Also try using rubbing alcohol with a small applicator bottle with a fine point plus a pick(I use plastic/waterproof playing cards instead) instead of the heat gun. Less chance to damage components and it's faster once you get the hang of it. Sometimes a little will get into the camera lens but then you just blow it out

First off, I like the quality of this video. Very good sound, you can hear the technician loud and clear, the background music is not an obstruction and they do zoom in on the important parts so, kudos on that iFixit but.... I am a PC technician myself and this videos is: 1) About removing (not replacing) the screen. While one can revert the steps, the title should reflect the content. 2) About removing an UNCRACKED screen... Hmmm... just as a heads up, it gets A LOT MESSIER when prying cracked glass... She even says it: "Not to perform unless it is broken..." And the phone looks SPARKLING new... doubt that LCD had any issues... 3) Way OVER SIMPLIFIED! The purpose of a video is also to teach the struggle! 4) If she did crack the screen, why not to show it? I believe mistakes teach a lot. Humility is in order iFixit. We all do it and own it... 5) GREED: The answer to 99% of your questions about materials or wanting the users to user Samsung techs only... Greed destroys everything. No wonder is a capital sin so we monkeys don't go and screw up ourselves in the end! LOL! 6) Anybody has a good suggestion of a video to replace JUST the digitizer? Or should I just forget it? 7) How many of the viewers here with a 100% success rate are paid by iFixit? :D

It would be both impractical and unlikely. For you to separate the display panel from the glass you'd need equipment like a nitrogen freezer. Then to adhere new glass.. a laminator to set the OCA and an autoclave to aid in removing bubbles. Definitely not a DIY job. If you somehow get crazy lucky with heat and playing cards.. you'd have to not remove the display from the midframe and then your only choice is UV glue which I just can't recommend.
