Gag Grouper Can't Resist This Bait, Fishing With Pigfish, Pinfish And Grunts For Keeper Grouper

Спорт

Pinfish, Pigfish and Grunts are Gag Grouper candy! In this video I'm fishing around docks and yachts in Florida from my Old Town Sportsman AutoPilot 120 kayak. Big baits for big fish rings true when targeting keeper Gag Grouper. For a couple of months now I've been fishing this area with small baits and have caught a lot of small fish. In this episode I'm searching for a giant with live bait. While trying to locate the trophy I manage to land several keeper Seabass and hook up with a nice Flounder.

Hey RR. Good to see you back out there. I just lost a fish and I bet you can tell me what it was. (I use all your lessons to catch snook, by the way. 43” in profile pic.) I fish off a seawall in Boca Grande. Tonight I threw a silver 4” paddle tail and ran it slowly parallel to the wall in about 4’ of water. Huge hit! No splash. No jump. Very heavy though and definitely swimming back and forth along the wall after hooked. When I stopped reeling to call a buddy to help land it, fish stopped fighting. Then when I reeled again, it fought. I thought it was spent, but every time I got it close to the wall, it started to pull off line like it was it’s job. Then I got a look. Big, fat, round, light colored. Like a full moon on my line. Then it came off as I brought it to the wall. Didn’t break the line, just got off the hook. I’ve fished this wall hundreds of times. Never experienced this. If I had to guess, and it’s just that, I’d say Grouper. (Never caught one here.) Maybe a massive Jack, but there was no head twitch and not a ton of fight, more like dead weight, with some fight. Any thoughts? (I’m sure you’ve got nothing better to do than field fishing questions. Feel free to tell me to get lost. But PLEASE rig that SG up with some light tackle and catch a fish. Can you imagine the views!) Thanks for all the great vids!

@@RadReelingFishing Man, OF COURSE I’ve seen that one. I think I’ve watched them all. Dad and I get up early to throw top waters. After sun up we go in and get breakfast while RR plays on the flatscreen. Then we head back out with a new motivation. I woke up this morning still pondering. And I too came up with Ray. Didn’t fight enough to be a grouper, although that’d be a much better story. Back to that SG. I see a collaboration between Gibson and Shakespeare, the first electric guitar light tackle rod combo, sponsored by RR and Angus Young.
