This includes all types of grouper (gag grouper, red grouper, black grouper, scamp grouper, etc).
These are same mistakes that are costing most offshore bottom fisherman from catching as many grouper as they want.

Hi sir.. great video.. just had a query.. i use the penn fierce 2 8000 series reel. The groupers to bite the lure and as i play them they come close to the boat but then they just get stronger and aggressive when close to the boat and eventually break off.. how do i solve that problem

I wish I watched more stuff like this before out Trip Thursday. Four of us on a Charter out of CWB. Was a Great Trip on High Tide but not experienced with Grouper Fishing. Much different than Haddock fishing. Gotta get the knack down. Captain Hubbard, I learned some when you are on Fox and just watching this I would not have lost 4. We pulled in 4 Keepers and 6 that were an inch to 2 short.

Awesome tips. First 5 to 10 cranks are crucial. Lost a good one last week because I was afraid to crank the drag down all the way and he dragged me into structure. Worst heartbreaker known to man 😪

Braided line is a game changer and forget about "top shots"!!! You want NO STRETCH! Mostly good info but disagree on two speed reels and low gear ratio reels. They're fine for tuna but for grouper, who are digging for a rock, you want to gain as much line as possible with every turn of the handle. High gear ratio and heavy drag is key.

You would have to use a two speed reel to understand. The difference is amazing when you switch to low gear.

This course will teach you so much about CATCHING Grouper it isn’t even funny. It answers questions you didn’t even know to ask! EVERYTHING is covered, from how to adjust and read your bottom machine to FIND the different types of places preferred by the various species, to tackle, rigs, hooking and presenting different baits, and when to use them, thru hooking and fighting them to the boat. It couldn’t be more complete!
