Gabriel Amine Synthesis
It's time to learn some name reactions! We've seen a lot of these already, but now we are going to hit several dozen more. First up, the Gabriel synthesis of primary amines. This is an old one, from 1887. Let's check out some old school chemistry!

Not even interested in the subject but you teach it so well. I listen to these while I paint my figures.

I was so disapointed after the first 5 seconds when I realized we weren't synthesizing anime. I don't even know what that is or how someone would do it, but I feel like my life has been cheated without this anime synthesis knowledge. Maybe it would work like alchemy where we could transform bad anime into great anime. Instead of lead into gold we could start with Pupa, say the magic words or whatever, and get and new extended Akira remake.

Hey Professor Dave, Just wanted to say thank you for being a gem of a youtuber. Youve helped plenty of students with their Chem classes and youve helped me by getting me excited about science and learning again. I thank you. Ive decided to go back to school because of you and Aron Ra. Keep up the good work Dave :)

amazing work, sir. I love your mathematics (all of it) serires. Thank you for making these contents free. We're grateful
Some lay people might think you’re talking about mixing pop stars together.
Hello sir i am a indian student thank you for help me to understand U S math I like to know different thing around of world
Awesome video Dave!
Excellent knowledge sir
you are literally saving my grade with these videos! (we have to know 80 name reactions for my test tomorrow) thank you :)
Thank you. I am able to understand it well now 🙏
"Organic Chemistry basics". I passed on my second try. Yay!
Hai Professor Dave, nice explanation
Thanks sir
I was recently studying synthesis of primary amines by reductive alkylation and some textbooks suggested this approach does not work well for making aliphatic amines of 5 carbons or less. For exampe - reaction of formaldehyde and ammonia does not give methylene imine, but hexamethylenetetramine instead. Similarly acetaldehyde and ammonia gives a trimer instead of ethylamine as one would expect. Is it because the imine further reacts with aldehyde? Or why is that? Textbooks mention reductive alkylation as a fairly general reaction, but it seems not working for preparations of the very simplest aliphatic amines. So far I will just remember that for these, Hoffman rearrangement or reduction of a suitable group (nitro, cyano, oxime) are more suitable. Not sure why the red. alkylation is not suitable here.
You are such an outstandingly awesome highly impactful teacher Dave !!! I love watching and learning along with you by your videos man !! Fills in so many holes that I had when in college for this almost 2 decades back 😥 FUCK I'm old 😄
sad: no gabriel anime 😢 happy: i learned about amine 😁
He knows lot about science stuff, Prof. Dave explain.. :)
Your videos where you drew everything on the wide board with errors were much more helpful and more understandable...
love you dave
Dave! Please do a video on “fingerprints of the gods”! It’s making a comeback and would love to see you debunk it
Greetings Dr Dave. The world needs a documentary. A comprehensive history of magnets and how they forever changed human history for the better, (For the G.P.} You live in a great spot to shlep the idea, Dr Tyson has a posture that's somewhat undesirable to me & a lot of folk, we need someone new to represent... I'll bet any money you could pull it off... Cheers & Best Wishes...

Oh good god I thought Professor Dave was doing an anime video and the world was ending simultaneously.
Thank you chemistry jesus
Hey I just discovered your channel, very informative. I was wondering about mRNA vaccines and how long after being injected does it last in the body and force your cells to mutate and can you explain why the SARS vaccines are ineffective against Covid-19

Hey professor Dave. I saw ur globebusters busted videos and I loved them. Can you please make a COVID-19 vaccine myths debunked video, just like that globebusters one. It can be of great help for thousands of people. Even the anti-vaccine cult provides some very stupid but spicy and funny arguments. You will definitely enjoy that.

So flat earthers got a new bit of nonsense. Gravity dosent exist, its stuff returning to its natural state. I mean i can already deprove this because if i roll a ball off a table it isnt going to go back to the table. The ground wasn't its natural state, so why did it go towards the ground
Anime
heres a suggestion:destroying flat earthers without science: Christanity
