i hope people realize how important the old Icons series was. its the closest thing we have to the documentation of what that is the art form medium of video game history that we have. i firmly believe that anyone who wants to be part of the videogame industry in any shape or form, needs to watch this entire series from beginning to end.

Atari is the only console manufacturer to make a game about porn something u don't see from Magnavox, Intellivision, SNK, Nintendo (obviously), Sony, and Microsoft

The esrb rating system is something I should not care about but I buy games digital

And yet parents buy 8 year olds M rated games! how sad. More Irony is that Call of Duty 1 - 3 is T, But CoD 4 & Onward are M, changing from Violence to Intense Violence, yet it's still about war and the only thing that caused the change in rating was life like or more realistic graphics.

What I think is the reason that parents buy their kids T and M games is because a lot of parents just assume that because it's a game, that only kids play it and, therefore, most or all games are appropriate for kids.

Randy Dubin, Parent's think it's all up to the industry. It Ain't. It's your child. You tell them what you want them to play in the rating wise and never let them over a rating until they get to a right age. E10 then at 15 T than 18 M-Ao

If I were to change one of the ratings, I would replace E10+ with E7+. I'd also double the size of the rating symbol on the front of the box, to make the video game ratings easier to see.

because theyre more interactive, people actually take on the role of the characters as they kill people in games like gta. as the guy said its a difference experience from a movie which you just watch

Now, I don't think it's all of the parents fault either... I don't think the ESRB is doing everything they can to prevent this either.

They do, they just don't get advertised and the profit margins are generally much lower since its been outlawed in most countries so they tend to not be made as often.

major retailers will not sell them and they end up getting banned in some countries so its not a great move to do so

ESRB originally killed indie games and starved out the indie devs. But now the ESRB is irrelevant that most indie games (including Minecraft which sold better than many AAA titles) don't even bother with it.

This aired before that rating was created, dumb fuck.

I think the rating system is a lil flawed and should look more lil more like this E (suitable for all ages) contains little to no violence, sex, language, nor mature themes E10+ (parental guidance recommended| Everyone 10+) may contain some violence, mild suggestive themes, some bad language (hell, damn, ass, bitch, etc.), drug references and some mature themes. T (Parents Strongly Cautioned | Teens 13+) May contain some strong language (sh*t, f*ck) intense violence with moderate blood detail, sexual themes, partial nudity (non-sexual), drug use and more mature themes M (Mature Audiences 17+) contains frequent use of strong langauge (f*ck, c*nt), graphic or extreme violence with heavy blood/gore detail, explicit sexual content, drug abuse and adult themes. The Adult's Only rating is pointless as it's only one year from the M rating and amounts to censorship, as it severely limits the ability to market and sell the game. The ESRB will get a playable copy of the games and the raters will play the games and will work with child psychics, mental health professionals, and parents to rate the games to the appropriate age level.

And now it's not very good anymore
