@@cjware316 for real. Was just playing mines again last night nfs most wanted 2005. It looked amazing. On a 50 inch 4K TV I didn't even know it could do that. I changed my Screen settings inside the 360 and noticed there were 2 or 3 new options for the HDMI I never saw them wasnt full 2160x whatever or 2160 at all but it stretched the screen and man it was a different experience. Holy shit. Had me hype for whatever reason. Just how I like my games.

Man the Xbox 360 was a great console. Revolutionized how we play games today.

Still think Ive had much more fun on my 360 than I have had on my xbox1. Even with the RROD, the 360 was, and still is one of the best consoles imo.

ZomBee if you’d bought an xbox 360 when it came out, probably wouldn’t be long after till it died on you from RROD. Best time to get an original xbox 360 was when they released ones with jasper motherboards(around 2008).

How do you tell if an Xbox 360 is from 2006 or 2008 based on what is on the outside of the console?

I never got why they changed it because the newer dashboard absolutely sucks ass. The blade dashboard was amazing in my opinion. Too bad the 360 had the worst hardware failure in history. It wasn't until the slim was released that they sorter the problem out. I don't believe the slim has ever had red ring but that's just my experience with it.

I had 3 360s that had hardware failures... My first one the disc drive completely jammed. Then I got a new one that would chew up every disc I would put in even when it stood still. I finally got one working for a few months and it red rings lol. Microsoft took 3 months to send me it fixed? After that I never had a problem again though.

Funny to hear that they're calling the 1st Xbox as Xbox one. heh.

Man....I know for a fact that the same amount of passion in the design of the 360 definitely did not go into designing the final xbox one.......

The Xbox 360 is my bae......seen Peter Moore show it and the games off live at Digital Life 2005, and even got hands on with the feel of the controller before having it taken out of my hands by a rep lol I had an Xbox 360 t-shirt from the event (everyone got one), and it was the last convention I've ever been to unfortunately. Also the Xbox 360 carried on the franchises I loved from OG Xbox like Halo, Fuzion Frenzy, Counter-Strike, Forza and also gave us things like Gears, Crackdown and a whole bunch of third party exclusives. And everyone I knew was playing Xbox from 2005 - 2013 and being an Xbox fan, and having been there from the beginning playing OG Xbox, when everyone was laughing at the brand........ahhh the memories! And I even bought my own Xbox in 2004 (didnt have $ as a kid to get one b4), and have been a #XBOX fan since then. Halo is still my favorite franchise ever, and I always get the feels when I play it, so it seems like I'll be staying with Xbox for years to come! #XBOX4LIFE

Feel like PS2 and Xbox 360 were the pinnacles for Sony and Microsoft, respectively

I think the Xbox 360 was the true console that Microsoft wanted to make, in the beginning. Because it was just an upgrade from the first. Even so, it was my favorite console of the generation.

Just wish the original Xbox team stayed in power post RROD because they had done a much better job lining up important things like game lineups and funding 1st party development teams and the next group was killing studios left and right and alienated the ones they didn't close.

The 360 was the peak of Xbox and even then it had alot to do with Sony thinking they were unbeatable. Sony made all these mistakes because they figured their install base would stay loyal but I think those mistakes combined with their original formula created PS4.

They put all that time into the design of XBOX 360, and now we have Series X and it's just a rectangle box with no curves. 😦

I probably stood up my Xbox 360 once. The whole idea of the 360 standing up sounds cool on paper, but in reality is very bad because the chance of it falling on its side is greatly increased. There's no real point to stand it up.

first xbox don't have Hdmi but, component work only on 720p.

@@BradPitBrasileiro component can do 1080p. Some early games like NBA street home court came out with 1080p support, before the HDMI was added on Xbox 360.

This is still the only Xbox console that seemed like the whole experience was designed by the same group of people with the same end goal and from the ground up. The Series X has been a nice return to form but feels like an extension/course correction of the Xbox One era

Unfortunately, they had a sucky console name like the Wiiu and the fact Xbox One was so expensive with a stupid Kinect. Hopefully the new Xbox has a better name and im ok with a $500 price as long as the console is backwards compatible and games are awesome with hi tech graphics. 2005 was a sucky year after July cuz 7th grade sucked for me but the 360 launch was one of my favorite parts in 7th grade that I'll never forget. Am glad I got a 360 but took me about a whole year for my dad to get one. It came with Burnout:Revenge at walmart but no case for the game. And it kept overheating so I had to keep returning games or fail to return them until I got the Nyko intercooler or whatever it was, and the 360 stopped freezing until I sent it to xbox soon after. Thank god for their RROD warranty that was like 3 years.

Nope, never was nor ever will be. PS3 had the better hardware, the better games, the better controller, the better exclusives. Xbox 360 was rubbish and with a insane 54% failure rate to show for it.

Xbox 360 is what got me to switch from being a PlayStation guy. I got an Xbox 360 and a PS3 and enjoyed my 360 so much more. I have a Xbox One now.

Well many years later, you thought wrong.

This is how amazing this system is. If it was any other console at the time, that Red Ring of Death would have doomed a console. The exclusives, the online and the amazing way Microsoft handled the RRoD kept the 360 from being killed. I went through 2 systems and I still consider it one of the best Consoles of all time.

They sure did build the "best" eggsboc ever!! Scratched dvds and red ring of death galore!

It was originally 480i but youtube and its dreaded encoder re-encoded it to the next lower resolution which made it look even worse. Just pretend it's 2007, when 240p was standard, you're watching this in the background while playing your 360 and then all is well. This may be a slightly better video since since archive.org doesn't re-encode mp4 sources: archive.org/details/G4_Icons_S04E09

On paper, the PS3 is superior. But, developers found the 360 to be so easy to develop games for that the 360 got superior versions of games like Red Dead Redemption, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim, Bayonetta, and more.

Haha. Same! Was at a friend's house and he told me about a game where you could go anywhere and do anything, I was absolutely amazed how good the graphics were and that you could free roam. Also remember thinking it was cool that you could shoot an arrow at the bucket hanging above the well and the arrow would stick out of the thing and actually make it move!

Its a pity that Microsoft forgot about what makes Xbox special as a brand. Don't you dare tell me otherwise, when Halo and Gears of War are now mediocre and on critical life support!

love hate - 2 rrod, abusive repairmen, swore off owning a console 6 years. I returned to xb with xb1 and continue to play 360 games on it.

Demon Souls is Great, Fable 2 is nearly Perfect and I enjoyed it much better. PS3 3rd party titles were usually garbage because of that Cell processor no one for the majority could program. This is why games like GTA 4, Dragon Age Origins, and many other games framerate wise are WAY more Stable on the 360 vs the PS3 for the Majority. Nothing against the PS3, but the 360 was better in nearly every way except not being able to play Blu Ray's.
