Future Military Technology: US Marines test new Future Weapons, Military Drones, Robots & Equipment

Future Military Technology: US Marines test new Future Weapons, Military Drones, Robots & Equipment
Marine Corps Base Camp Penleton, Calif.-Marines with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment test equipment provided by the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory on Camp Pendleton, Calif. The equipment they are testing ranges from unmanned ground and aerial vehicles, new technology in expeditionary medicine, reusable energy and water purifying systems. The Warfighting Labs identifies possible challenges of the future and develops new warfighting concepts and tests new ideas to help develop equipment that meets the challenges of the future operating environment.
About the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory:
www.mcwl.marines.mil/
The United States Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) was established in 1995, at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The organization was originally known as the Commandant's Warfighting Laboratory. The warfighting lab is part of the Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC) and its stated purpose is to improve current and future naval expeditionary warfare capabilities across the spectrum of conflict for current and future operating forces.
The organization is in charge of various aspects of advanced techniques and technology in the United States Marine Corps, and is also responsible for overseeing the Urban Warrior program. Recently the MCWL has been overseeing the testing and implementation of distributed operations at the behest of General James Amos, the former Commanding General of MCCDC.

Three men, with one of these can carry a heavy mortar a few shoulder launched missiles and a couple of snipers can destroy a convoy. Or present a huge front to confuse and enemy. Pick off the trailer with the sniper, then open up with the mortar while someone fires the shoulder launched missile while the sniper is pinging off the heavy armor. That's a formidable force.

DARPA should be focus on making exo suits for soldiers that enable them with increase of strength. I think that would be useful in combat.

  • @MSaleh-vy8rr

    @MSaleh-vy8rr

    6 жыл бұрын

Yea. I kinda disagree with you. But it is true if exo suits might make them lazy. But they should get intense training like you see in military camps. I think exo suits are just for the heavy lifting. If a soldier carry a load of ammo on the back, that would make them exhausted. From a industry called DARPA, they created exo legs, so soldiers could carry heavy loads of ammo and equipments. That's one advantage why they should wear exo suits. There are pros and cons about this technology. Pros, it enables soldiers to carry heavy things and walk at a long duration. Cons, the batteries might run out, and they are fucked. I do understand that men and women in the army should have intense training for toughen them up so they can be brave enough to fight in combat, but it's the all about the mentality, the body has limits. It is possible if scientist could invent some type of drug that increase a human strength, like a super human. For soldiers, super soldiers, like Captain America. I don't know if that's possible. Trust me I'm no scientist.

Looks like someone's trying to recreate Boeing's Future Combat System proposal that got shot down by DARPA about ten years ago. At the time DARPA rejected it because of 55 technologies that Boeing said would be part of the system 49 of them were vapor edge/bleeding edge and they didn't think committing $20B for a built out system would be worth it with the current state of the tech at the time. Of course, the tech's improved since (and Boston Dynamics still works on bleeding edge robotics) so I see this coming in bits and pieces.

You should be able to hook them together with ability to carry 30 troops. Maybe a couple battery carts. Like a centipede. Two per heavy machine gun cart. I like a 240 bravo and MK-19 combo. Maybe a hydraulic mount so you can stand up and be in the defilade. Chicken plate would be sick to. Maybe mechanics drive battery carts and solar panels. Or all have the ability to use solar to recharge them. Maybe add a bumper dumper on a hitch so someone can shit while it's driving and continue mission with dismounts.

Both the Army, and Marine Corps are testing new weapons systems which is superior to the current systems. Some of the equipment is designed to be used offensively to destroy enemy equipment, and personnel, while on defense it is used to carry equipment the troops will need once they reach their destination and allow the troops to accomplish their mission until backup ammo, and other supplies reach them.

There's no need to limit the thinking to that military robots should be humanoid in form at all. Humanoid form is rather inconvenient for non-biological things. Yes, human form can do a lot what current robots can't do, but many of those functions are completely unnecessary for something that can be specialized and weaponized far beyond human capabilities.

This is one of the military tech that was my invention, presented to the military years ago didn’t receive a dime for it. See if they use my ground troop patrolling vehicle idea next, although i said robots with camera and 50 cal on top would work better with street fighting. The money isn’t even the most motive for giving them these idea’s...it was to better guard our troops/give em an advantage and get my name out there so I can continue work on future military tech. They took my remote control mines with camera’s idea. The one navy gun that has like 50 barrels to shoot incoming missiles. Of course they tweaked the concept and called everything by a different name. The strobe light on friendly troops in the field that only fighters and helicopter pilots can see...I came up with that after seeing so many of our troops being killed in first gulf war by our own fighters/helicopters.

Having the ability to see your environment for several hundred meters all around in spite of terrain and the ability to issue a .5" heavy machine gun at even squad level and not effect foot mobility or concealment in any major way is going to increase the lethality of any armed force. If that armed force is the US Marines, well even more so. I presume the Gatling gun bot is for close in air defense.

As long as religion dominates the human consciousness we will continue to exclude, judge and vilify our fellow man. Organized religion has caused the human race to be spiritually and scientifically stunted. Our educational and governmental institutions seem keen to maintain a fear of the bogey man in some form or other in perpetuity.

  • @graemesydney38

I generally agree but although religions are still in a favoured and powerful position in western societies I don't think they dominate. In the third world, and particularly the islamic world, it holds true. I don't think "our educational and governmental institutions seem keen to maintain a fear of the bogey man" or any religion but rather are trapped by the West's high ideals and principle and the fear of causing social disunity. But I think this is gradually changing as knowledge of the true nature of islam and the interests driving it, becomes clear to the public and govts. But if this gels into a coherent opposing ideology is unclear. Things will get a lot worst before (if) its get better and these weapons will be further developed and employed by the West in the struggle as the West takes advantage of its technological edge. The future probably doesn't bear thinking about too deeply, its grim. I fear the world will divide permanently in to haves and have nots, the educated and uneducated, the elite and those dispossessed of hope and future.

We should also make laser weapons and to prevent risking the lives of our men use robot soldiers because bullets kill soldiers in one shot while robots can take a huge punishment from enemy weapons

Ballistic Buzzums no but I do know that an army of robots is better because of the robots are like the worlds most favorite tech in the modern world

Ballistic Buzzums well its harder to recruit soldiers into our American military because of various health reasons like obesity which cause many soldiers to either not be able to join or cause soldiers to be discharged from the army and I was thinking that robots can be used rather than risking the lives of our men

But robots also cost more for research and production, repair, etc. and they are easily crippled by an emp or even hacking

Now we all know none of these will be used, you won’t just have a drone with you and a mini tank that you are carrying while in battle, war will always be the same guns and armour that’s it and the ordinary stuff, tanks etc. but not this crap
