0:59 also remember that fursuiters have limited vision! Most heads block out some part of the periphery and directly in front of the suiter, and below and above them as well. Just something to keep in mind when navigating around or trying to get a suiter’s attention

Some travel advice from a non-furry who happens to be a seasoned road warrior: Ditch the "just in case" items when you are packing. Seriously. In my years of traveling for work I can count the number of times that I actually used one of those items I brought "just in case" on one hand. And even then it was not really worth the dead weight I was schlepping around. An extra pair of socks and underwear? Yeah sure, why not. But avoid bringing everything bar the kitchen sink "just in case". Outside of your fursuit, think "outfits" as opposed to individual articles of clothing. Don't bring "that one shirt because you find it cute" unless you have an outfit that it will match. Otherwise all that is wasted space that is better used for con swag and souvenirs. If you want to go out for a meal with one certain group, arrange that well in advance of the con. Ask around who is game, and make a reservation at the place of your choice. Set up calendar files and a chat group, so everyone has the time and opportunity to be ready on time, or inform the group if they cannot make it for some reason. Set a time and a place to meet (eg. meet at 6 pm at the reception desk), and then leave on time. As Agent K said: "Be there or be square". Spontaneous outings tend to crash and burn without a set time and place because you end up waiting for at least an hour before everyone is there and you actually get to go. Person A wants to take a quick shower before leaving and says they will be back in 10 minutes, but end up taking 30, person B needs to pop back to their room to get a jacket, but takes 40 minutes to come back because on the way they bumped into someone they haven't seen in years and wanted to catch up, person C is desperately trying to find their "plus one" but they won't answer their phone or text messages and person D just is nowhere to be found even though they really, really wanted to go. You know how this goes. Sure, things can happen spontaneously. This is normal. But some degree of planning ahead can make everything a whole lot less stressful for everyone involved..
