Do I bring a bodyguard when I'm in an area where people are hate crimed/assaulted for wearing only a tail, let alone a suit? I'd genuinely love a suit, it looks like a lot of fun, and I get cold super easily, so from what I hear, it'd keep me warm too. But it's not safe for me to do, considering events I've heard of happening near me

I'm sorry to hear that about the area you are in. Safety is always paramount above all else. You don't need a bodyguard but suggest when in a comfortable area to suit, to bring a buddy/fursuit handler

I’m not a furry but I *am* a cosplayer, & they can be pretty similar at times. I’ll definitely keep these in mind if I ever go public cosplaying :)

Yeah that is always a great idea and cool that your partner is there with ya ^^

Having a handler at a meet is not nearly as essential, as long as you can see at least a bit. Don't be put off if you don't have one.

When you're public suiting, it can be essential. But a handler can be any friend! Doesn't have to be a full thing, can just be a person you can shout for when you need help getting up or down steps, or crossing a road.

a handler isnt there just to help you see though, they can do so much for you depending on your needs and they should definitely be encouraged when public suiting especially incase you get overwhelmed or involved with a bad crowd and need someone else to help you get out of a potentially bad situation

yeah I try and bring a protein bar or something with me if going out for a while in a bigger public space. Helps a lot :3

I think it their fursuit look rather than his torso as the suit mostly supposed to be much larger and cover the body like a fluffy ball.
